The past perfect tense in (B) is not necessary. The use of "had" twice in (B) makes the sentence completely awkward. The past perfect tense should be used to indicate an action before something in the past. An example of past perfect tense: They had maintained the park for ten years before...

Exceeding the word limit is not a good idea. For schools that have a "suggested" word limit, you can exceed the word limit by about 10%, but not for other schools. The word limit tests you on how succintly and coherently you can present your ideas.

In (C) whether nuclear power is the subject or the object of the second sentence, the fact remains that the comparison is between the percentage of energy from nuclear power in France and the percentage of energy from nuclear power in France. (E) is incorrect because "it" does not have a c...

(A) is the correct answer choice. You must be wondering why “computer chipsâ€ is followed by “has sentâ€. But look closely, the subject here is not “computer chipsâ€ but “oversupplyâ€, which is singular in number and must be followed by a singular verb. It is the “oversupplyâ€ that â€...

Both the sentences are grammatically correct. The main difference is in the emphasis; the first one emphasizes XYZ enterprise; "the world's largest manufacturing firm" is parenthetical in this case. In the second usage, the focus is on "the world's largest manufacturing firm"; XY...

The original sentence has a modifier error and a subject-verb agreement error. More importantly, it has a very awkward idiomatic structure. For instance, the sentence says, "On Earth, X is an indication of Y". This makes it seem as if we are comparing two planets, let us say Earth and Mars...
