James worked a total of 41 hours So James is paid 40*x +1*2x dollars= 42x dollars Harry and James were paid the same amount last week. So harry is paid 42x dollars last week in first 30 hr Harry is paid 30*x=30x dollars and for the rest y hours he is paid 1.5xy dollars so 30x+1.5xy=42x or 1.5xy=12x...
Why won't it be D?
From St. 1:
(x-y)^2=(x+y)^2 - 4xy
25=(x+y)^2 + 24
(x+y)^2=1
x+y= sq.root (1) = +/- 1..insufficient
u have to consider the sign
I will go with E x^2 + y^2<= 100 is all the area enclosed in a circle with radius 10 so any point with abscissa or ordinate with more than 10 will not be in that circular region. From 1 a+b=14 a and b can be any thing like a=b=7..its in x^2 + y^2<= 100 but a=14 and b=0 its not in x^2 + y^2<= 100..in...

Thanks for the prompt reply. Just to add, incase the question asks the number of factors of 36*96, then what will be the answer? 36 * 96 = 6 * 6 * 6 * 16 = 2 * 3 * 2 * 3 * 2*3 * 2^4 = 2^7 *3 ^3 = No of factors : (7+1) * (3+1) 8 * 4 = 32 Hope this helps!! just to generalize for any number n=a^p *b^q...

IMO ans is option C
35x and 20y has 5 in them so depending on values of x and y all the options can be HCF but 35x will never be divisible by 20x.Hence the ans
