Hey, Your verbal score isn't all that bad. You need to work on your Math. Use OG 11. It really helped. If you want to start with your basics, then the Princeton review is very good.

Well, I am sure I got a little lucky. :) All the best with your apps. The score is but just one factor. With a good score you have only one thing less to worry about.

I don't think so. Most universities when posed this question have replied that they look at the total score and generally don't even consider the percentiles that may vary from year to year.

Thats a good question and I am not entirely sure. However a 49 in Quant was a only a 89 percentile on my scorecard while a 46 Verbal was a 99 percentile. So perhaps percentiles in either sections are used to come up with the final score?!

The Official Guide was extremely useful. I made sure to go through this as as thoroughly as possible. In the exercises, I made a note of the ones I got wrong and came back to them after I had finished with the Kaplan and Princeton guides. I also went through several Idiom lists.
