Please help- explain this to me!

Can somebody please explain to me what does Rounds 1, 2 and 3 applications dates (that each Biz school has) mean? Does this mean I have to submit an application 3 times or I can submit it on any one round and undergo 3 rounds of getting 'filtered'? I am preparing to take the GMAT the end of this yea...
