Hi all, If this thread is still alive, I have a few questions for all of you. 1) McKinsey, Bain, BCG (MBB) Hiring. I understand that roughly 25% of each year's class graduates into management consulting, but I have not been able to find precise figures on the number of hires to the Top Tier Manageme...

thanks for the tips. Is it ok to draw on an example from beyond the past 3 years in the cover letter? Sloan stipulates that essay examples must be within the last three years in the essay section, and I kind of feel I am running out of high-quality leadership/impact stories, particularly if I am not...

Thanks for the reply.
Would you be concerned with (3/3) essays for MIT being all work-related? Would you suggest slipping in a small story about community involvement in the optional essay (<250 words)?

Essays: Split of Professional vs. Extracurricular Stories
Hi, What do you suggest for a split between professional and extracurricular stories for B-school essays? I have a fairly unique background in a business setting - basically I do M&A for a software company, but as opposed to being simply an analyst, I am on the ground and involved with operation...

Those are both great suggestions. Thanks a lot. I've developed a new found interest in Search Funds (where prospective entrepreneurs buy into an existing business and manage and grow it to exit). This is a relatively new development in the US and is basically non-existent in Canada (as far as I can ...

Researching Private Equity MBAs
Can anyone recommend any good resources for researching MBA programs with strong Private Equity components?
I bought the Clear Admit guide to entrepreneurship MBAs and I'd love a similar resource to consult for PE, but they don't have one.
Any and all ideas are more than welcome.
Thanks,

thanks very much for your reply. I've had at least one other admissions consultant suggest that Stanford would be a waste of time, so it's at the very least encouraging to hear that it might not be out of the question (although I realize it would be a grand feat.) I will definitely pass along my res...

Hi Jessica, Thanks so much for your reply. Two follow-up questions for you: 1) What kind of profile would you recommend apply to Stanford? I'm just curious as to what would be considered good enough for Stanford (and to find out what the key differences would be between my profile and that of a Stan...

Please help - do I stand a chance for Top Tier US?
Hi, I know that top tier U.S. schools are hyper-competitive. Would applying to these schools be a waste of my time? Are there any schools that I would have a better chance at given my background? I don't work for a brand name company (Microsoft, etc.) and although I think I've done very well in my c...

my bet is on the name brand - I've never heard of Babson until this thread.
I'm thinking a good compromise might be Booth or Kellogg (among the top 25 on Entrepreneur's List) but they still have Top 10 reps.

FYI - I searched Entrepreneur Magazine and I found this list helpful http://www.entrepreneur.com/topcolleges/grad/0.html
I did not know Booth was known for entrepreneurship.
Please share if you find any other good lists or resources.

All about Manhattan GMAT. Purchase SC Guide (essential), CR Guide, and RC Guide. Also, you can try Powerscore's CR Bible, it's good for reinforcement.
