45-45-90 (Inscribed circle in a square)

A circle is inscribed in a square. The question asks for the area of the circle. The only information given is that the diagonal of the square is 2 root 6. So to find the side of the square, which equals the diameter of the circle, we would say that the hypotenuse x root 2=2 root 6 and solve for x. ...

I think the Manhattan guides contain sufficient "tricks and tips". Have you taken any classroom or online course?? No I have not taken any online or classroom courses. Is that something you recommend; a particular one? I have hired a tutor which has done some good but it's hard to "k...

Thanks Dana! You are right.. I have taken a look at the percentiles and noticed that quant needs to improve. I've been focusing all my time on this area but was hopefully looking for any other gaps in the verbal section. May I ask you how you implemented and used the Powerscore CR Bible? Did you imm...

MGMAT CAT verbal in comparison to Official GMAT verbal

Can someone comment on the differences between these two? I understand that it may not be an issue of hard versus easy, but maybe more so an issue of differences in wording and structure. I've been taking the MGMAT Cat's and plan to take a GMATprep once before actual test day. I'm hoping to not have...

Quant Strategy Book

I've been fortunate enough to have made it through most of the MGMAT Quant guides. They have been such a BIG help in re-learning the fundamentals. Although the fundamentals have been very important, I was thrown for a whirlwind upon my first practice CAT. I now feel that this test is more about lear...

Nitty Gritty of Strategy

I'm just shy of a month before I take my 1st attempt. I feel fairly good at this point although need to improve and become consistent in most areas, something I've been lacking. Please keep in mind this is for someone (myself) shooting for the 600-650 range. Highest CAT score on MGMAT thus far is 59...

Comment on 12th OG diagnostic Test

Can someone please comment on their personal opinion of the 12th OG Diagnostic test compared to the practice CAT's on GMATprep, MGMAT, ect. Only reason I ask is because I started going through the first part of Quant on the Diag. and felt like it was much more difficult than many of the actual "...

thank you. I also wanted to ask you as I read on another post of yours about "drilling". What exactly do you mean by that? For instance: When I go through the MGMAT chapters, I take notes and understand the content. Then I do the questions at the end (usually 60-70% of them but rarely ALL ...

How to prepare for 1st tutoring session?

I've now gone through 7 of the 8 MGMAT guides with note taking and answering questions at the end. It took about two months time and am now prepping for my first session with a tutor on monday. I will be taking the 12th OG Diagnostic exam on saturday and will ave a better idea of what my strengths a...

Tutor wanted: Los Angeles area

Does anyone have a personal reference to a tutor in the Los Angeles area?

I'm familiar with some of the schools in the area but am hoping to deal outside of the institution(s) solely for the sake of cost$$.

I appreciate anyone's advice/referral.

Yes this helps very much. Comparatively speaking my hit rate yesterday on OG 12 Problem Solve was around 60-75% while DS was very low, maybe 30%.

I appreciate your input. I'm going to stick with PS first to get the concepts down.

Quant section: Start with Data Sufficien or Problem solving?

Going through MGMAT's Number Properties and getting into chapter Nine which is practice problems out of the 12 OG, is it better to start out with problem solving or data sufficiency, or both? I realized it's been ten years since Algebra 1 in high school coupled with the degree and foreignness of Dat...
