I need complete silence when taking tests. Even without any abnormal sounds in the test center, 20 people typing in the AWA section can be quite distracting. The test center I've been to did not allow me to bring in my own earplugs (I brought some and asked), however, they did offer their own dispos...

Night Reader,

Thank you! That was an extremely thorough answer & you were very helpful in making your reasoning clear.

Only question I have now is why did you use 'hours' as the unit of time at the end? Shouldn't this be days? 91 days?

Work can be done by 8 men and 10 women in 25 days...

Work can be done by 8 men and 10 women in 25 days. The same work can be done by 10 children and 5 women in 25 days.

In how many days would it take 2 children and 3 men to complete the same work?

I took got a free retake, but it was a result of two administrative errors that occurred during the test. Even with what I feel were very legitimate reasons to warrant a retest, it took a lot of pushing to get GMAC to issue a free retest. Luckily for me everything was caught on camera. I highly doub...

I think the main problem with the Power Score CR bible is that it is almost too much. I think these two guides provide you with all of the information you need to drastically improve your CR, but they present the material in a more manageable way. +1, despite reading so many rave reviews I found th...

I am one of those individuals that experienced more or less a horror story when it comes to the pens they give you at the test site. My pen ran out of ink and I couldn't find a proctor--for what seemed to be an eternity. Anyways, the GMAC refunded my first test given the pen problem I mentioned abov...

Out of curiosity, do you think it would be of any advantage for Harsh to take the test and cancel the score at the end? Of course that would prevent him from getting the cold hard feedback that a score would provide, but that score wouldn't be sent to his selected schools. Although, I think I've he...

Hey Eric, I have a question. When you say that you did 40 questions a day of a certain problem type...are you referring to OG problems? I ask because the first half of the OG problems are extremely easy and if you're doing 40 problems a day you could fly through the book in a matter of a couple week...

Wow, great debrief and congratulations! I'm stuck at the 690 threshold atm. Despite what you said about Knewton lacking in regards to quant explanations, I've been considering purchasing it due to the 50 point guarantee they offer--especially considering that a 50 point improvement would put me at a...

^^Great explanation! Thank you very much.

Even though I am very comfortable with finding the GCF and LCM, I have never conceptualized as it is required for this problem.

Again, great explanation.

What is the greatest number of identical bouquets that can be made out of 21 white and 91 red tulips if no flowers are to be left out? (Two bouquets are identical whenever the number of red tulips in the two bouquets is equal and the number of white tulips in the two bouquets is equal) (A) 3 (B) 4 (...

That's probably impossible for anyone here to answer. Besides the relevancy of the 'hit rate' that you described above, there are two other factors that are equally as important to your score on the actual GMAT: 1. Your average time per question 2. The difficulty level of the questions you're gettin...

With weakening & strengthening questions if I have it narrowed down to 2 answers and cannot decide--I try to identify which answer is the closest to the conclusion of the argument and I'll pick that one. This is similar to what Dana J posted, subtle differences in two words such as 'paint' and '...

I actually went through 1 book at a time--even if that meant focusing on a sole topic for over a week at a time. Then after finishing each book I'd proceed to take a practice CAT and make flash cards covering all of the material that I had difficulty with (and I'd review these flash cards every day ...
