Hi djkvakin, It definitely won't hurt you to take the test again (other than a little added stress). For most schools, you won't have a red flag until you've take the GMAT more than three times. It does seem that you need a slight change in your approach, perhaps diversifying your materials will hel...

Hi jpjp, The main way that your undergrad institution will have a flag is if your GPA was really low in an "easy" major. For example, if you had a 2.8 GPA in English it could work against you. Anyways, you haven't blown your shot at top 20 programs based on your undergrad. Your strong GMAT...

Hi RumpelThickSkin, I agree with what Favin recommended if you get that GMAT score. Keep studying for the GMAT and check back in for a profile evaluation once you have something official. By the way, you still have some time to get more involved in extra-curricular activities. Think about joining a ...

Hi arisugawa, Your unemployment isn't necessarily a dealbreaker, but you will have to explain why you haven't done much since your last job. My suggestion is to clearly identify your goals so you don't look like you're applying to b-school just to have something to do. As far as waiting until next y...

Hi wolfishd,

According to MBA.com the software requires a PC. I tried to run it using the Parallels Mac program (usually you can run PC programs through that system), but it didn't work for me. A safe bet is to borrow a friend's computer to take those exams.

Hi kaweewut,

Your GMAT score is absolutely within the range of any top business school. Instead of retaking the test, I recommend you now spend your time developing a quality application that really makes you stand out.

Hi muralidhar, It would be useful to know what types of questions you're missing within Sentence Correction. There are about six main errors that are tested on the GMAT in regard to sentence correction (idioms, parallelism, etc.), so I suggest finding the specific area that needs improvement and foc...

Hi dikku07,

It's tough to evaluate what school might be a good fit without a GMAT score. Once you have taken the official test you can determine (with your GPA, work experience, etc.) which schools are realistic for you.

Good luck!

Hi ketnet1, First, there has been some debate recently regarding the difference between applying in Round 1 vs. Round 2. You can search the forums for more info, but from my experience, the acceptance rates are not significantly different between the two rounds. Once you drift into rounds 3 or 4, th...
