I completely see where you're coming from in regard to the essay and IR sections. I will review my CAT stuff later tonight. Also, I'll start doing the entire CAT. The only materials I acquired are the Fifth Edition MGMAT guides & 13th Edition OG. I basically am just reviewing those for the mean ...

Thanks for the words of encouragement. 1)Did you take the ENTIRE CAT (including the Essay and IR sections)? No, I only took the math and English portions. I remember I did well on the essay (5.5 I think) when I took the GMAT the first time around. I don't know if it's bad, but I don't think I really...

Sorry for the long wait. I took a practice GMAT from mba.com
Score was 720 (48Q, 41V). I'm reporting back. I hope Rich sees this and advises me. Thanks
Also, I am going to go over my questions (all of them, especially the ones I got wrong).

Thank you very much for your post, Rich. I might be able to torrent some GMAT materials. You basically caught me up to speed. Yes, PhD programs are so competitive! I appreciate the assistance and will report back when I've completed an assessment. Thank you.

Retaking the GMAT (help please)
I took the GMAT back in 2010 and scored a 660. I don't remember the breakdown. Anyway, the only reason for me retaking the GMAT is so I can get accepted into a PhD program. I really am shooting for above a 700, but hopefully > 720. My question is what changes have been made to the GMAT since I've ta...

I'm not trying to sound arrogant, but I know it just isn't a test of English.... I've taken the test before and I've prepped for it for it several times. I'm just at a loss...I guess I might retake, but not for some time.

620 (Q 47 V 28) PLEASE READ...possible scoring error?
I just took the GMAT for the second time. The first time I took the exam I scored a 660 (Q 42 V 39) 6.0 AWA (September 2010). I took the test today (January 17th, 2012) and scored a 620 (Q 47 V 28). I did not study a ton for the verbal portion of the exam, but I did do practice problems over each of...

That is a very impressive score. I finish my master's in accounting this May and I scored a 660 over a year ago on my first attempt. I'm pretty sure that you are going to be very well taken care of because of your great score. You are obviously very intelligent and I know you would do well in an MBA...

Need opinion on how to structure second attempt at GMAT
I took the exam for the first time back in September of 2010 and scored a 660 (42Q,39V) because I needed to get into graduate school for Spring 2011. I am retaking because I want a better score because I want to get into a PhD program. I am taking the test on January 17th and I have now until then t...

I think I was able to come up with percentages of who dressed and who didn't for the two years, but you still don't know how many fourth graders there were for each year. I don't think you can be assuming a constant number of fourth graders.

Hey, I chose D as well as it was the only one that really stood out. I suppose your hypothetical would be correct, but I don't think the GMAT does this.

I'm sorry, but this doesn't make any sense to me. How does A call into question Jim's argument that advanced treadmills don't offer any more health benefits than running outside? A is talking about something completely different from the argument, as it seems all the others are too.

I did it similar to you, vineeshp. I don't understand how this can be reasonably done in 2 mins without a calculator. I had to use a calculator to figure out this one.
