An error log is essential in determining "guess" question types or topics, and yes, it is definitely more challenging on the verbal. If you simply do not consistently get the same type of question wrong, guessing will only happen on questions that are taking too long and on questions at th...

jim -- Even though it's common sense to imagine that the illegal immigrants who cannot vote would oppose the plan, you absolutely cannot assume that the 30% illegal population is entirely contained within the 60%. almost every strengthen/weaken problem requires common-sense assumptions. if one coul...

More tests are definitely a help, but also paying attention to what sorts of things trip you up when you're fatigued that way -- perhaps they are no trouble with 100% concentration, but full tests are a different environment. Also, it could just be coincidence. The 5% you often don't get right could...

We are specifically directed to the claim in the last line: that small steel mills will take business from the large ones. If they make a different product (choice E), that will not happen.

I eliminated B when I realized that a student could have attended TopNotch but not graduated from there.

Even though it's common sense to imagine that the illegal immigrants who cannot vote would oppose the plan, you absolutely cannot assume that the 30% illegal population is entirely contained within the 60%. First, they may be 100% of the 5% who did not answer, putting them at under 25% of the city's...

Hi Praveen, Your reasoning is flawed here. Let's consider, You have a ball pen and you need to refill it. What would you choose: A) An ink of type that is of same type of ink your pen uses. B) An ink of type that is different from type of ink your pen uses. Although it is unique, but of no use to y...

It's unsettling for the answer to go in the opposite direction, but it still strengthens the link. I didn't get this. Can you please throw some more light on this. In simpler terms, if the question said "Researchers have analyzed real estate data and have concluded that people like to live nea...

When statistics or survey results are mentioned in CR, you should immediately check to make sure that the evidence supports the conclusion, or what assumptions are needed for it to do so. I will go so far as to say that CR with surveys/data that do NOT test this are rare.

Basically, the "most" students over 120 who get into Ivy league could theoretically exclude ALL students from TopNotch. That is to say, when they say "most students over 120 get in", they could mean "all students over 120 get in EXCEPT those from TopNotch high school -- we h...

The passage is basically this:

Fossil fuels got their energy from the sun. Here's how fossil fuels got their energy from the sun. Therefore, when we use fossil fuels, we are using energy from the sun.

It must be B.

This is one of those questions where I feel it helps to pay attention to the extra info in the question stem -- we're asked to strengthen the psychologists' interpretation, which is that there's a link between the sight of a logo and how much a person pays. It's unsettling for the answer to go in th...

New drugs available only if patents are possible. No patents no new drugs. Very concisely put. The argument hinges on IMPROVING ACCESS TO NEW DRUGS. If companies can only afford their research via patents, they won't be able to afford research without patents, and thus there will be no new drugs.

I would have chosen B as well. If they were FOREVER linked, they are linked today we have to accept the passage as true). If it was linked to SPIRITUAL stuff in 800, some people must be using it for that, rather than physical reasons.
