Hello Lisa, Thanks Lisa but I think you misunderstood me or I was not clear. I am not selecting the schools based on the essay questions. At this point I am sure that I will be applying to all the schools that I listed. My question is which application should I start with first..and which will force...

Which application to start with
Hello, Most of the schools have questions that focus on similar topics such as career experience up until now, future plans, how the school will help you and what will you bring to the school...to mention a few. Of course each school has its own little twist to these questions but once we have worke...

5C3 is correct but the logic behind it is a little fuzzy. I just reread the question and it seems that some of us misread "formed from such intersections" as "formed from such intersection points"... since we do not need to consider the points..we only need to choose 3 different ...

Re:
The reason we do not multiply is because we do not differentiate between the different white balls. The combination was: Red, Blue,Green, Yellow and White1 Red, Blue,Green, Yellow and White2 Red, Blue,Green, Yellow and White3 if the white1, white2 and white3 are identical (say we called them all jus...

Re: GMAT Prep Question (work)
The rate at which R does the work is 1/36. The rate at which S does the work is 1/18. If they work together, the combined rate will be = 1/36 + 1/18 = 3/36 = 1/12 To finish the work in 2 hours the combined rate should be 1/2. So think of it in this way: Which number multiplied by the rate of 1/12 wi...

why are you not taking 13 into consideration? its a prime number?!?! If we take K = 13, then the only way we could get the sum = 15 if m = 1 and n = 1. but since it is given that m < n < k, thus the minimum value for m can be 1 and n can be 2. This gives us the minimum value for (m + n) = 3. If min...

B. |x| <=5 means that -5 <= x <=5. If that's the case, then this inequality also contains numbers that are beyond 3 (to the right of 3, actually). B is no good. E. |x + 1| <=4 -4 <= x + 1 <=4 --- subtract 1 -5 <=x <=3 - here's the answer you're looking for. I get the same answer witht the same appr...

Re: Standard deviation below the mean - GMAT PREP
The mean (average) of the 10 running times is 100. 1 std deviation below the mean can be calculated as follows: Mean - (1 * Standard Deviation) = 100 - (1 * 22.4) = 100 - 22.4 = 77.6 Hence the quesiton is asking us to find how many of the 10 running times are below 77.6. By reviewing the list we kno...

The answer should be
A -> 5P3 / (2!)
We select 3 numbers from 5 possible selections. But since 1 is repeated twice, we divide it by 2!.
Hope it helps.

The question is targeted at ONLY selecting the 3rd card...the first 2 cards are already selected...so you dont need to consider probability of the first 2 not being shares of stock... Hence in your calculation, you would need to get rid of 40/48*39/47....leaving you with 8/46 -> 4/23... Hope this he...

You are correct about the 3 shirt - 3 pants combinations...there will be 3*3 = 9 combinations....but this problem is a little different... yes..I was thinking n=p^(2q)... joyseychow: Could you please clarify whether the question states n=p^(2q) or n=(p^2) * q Thanks. answer is D n=p^2q either p or q can be 5 clearly P^2*q^2 must be divisible by 25. answer is D n=p^2q either p or q can be 5 clearly P^2*q^2 must be divisible by 25. B cannot be the answer because if p is 5 then q can be any prime number. 3,7, etc. in that case p^2 will not be divisible by 25 q cannot be 5...plug in the numbers...if p = 2 and q = 5...we get n = 2^10 = 1024..not a...
