OG12

DS is a killer - especially the difficult ones - so all the ones after about Question 95 onwards are rather tough.

Also - I think the official GMAT is even tougher that what we see in the OG 11/12.

If it says smallest Absolute Value then it should be B. What is the source?

I am not sure - but these are the values I got if I take r = -1

A) - 3
B) -5/4
C) -12/7
D) - 8/6
E) - 2

A = - 3 would be the smallest "value" but smallest absolute value has to be B

I went a bit more basic on this. K took 3 hrs to do 1/4 of the job, then K took 6 hrs to do 1/2 the job. Therefore K did 3/4 of the work in 9 Hrs and M did 1/4 of the work in 6 hrs. If M did 1/4 in 6hrs, it would take M 6*4 hours to complete the job. I would go for the earlier solution as it sticks ...

Verbal score lower than GMATPrep

Hi, I got a V36 on my Official GMAT test, while on all my previous GMAT Prep tests (2 Original and 2 cancelled and retaken) - my lowest scaled Verbal score was 40, with about 6-8 questions wrong. Each split into RC, CR and SC. So am surprized at the drop. I am trying to find some solid study materia...

Fercho81's response is the best way to do it I think Line segment QS divides the equilateral triangle 60-60-60 into 2 triangles with angles 30-60-90. The sides of such a triangle are in ratio of 1:sqroot3:2 Therefore 4:4sqroot3:8 Thus you have length of one side 8, multiply that into 3 as all sides ...

Drum X - Drum Y

Take Drum X as 150 litres, Drum Y as 300 litres

Drum X has 75 litres (1/2 full), Drum Y has 200 litres (2/3 full)

Pour 75 litres into the 300 litre drum - you get 200+75 = 275 litres

275/300 -> Divide by 5

= 11/12
