Ok, but it's not very detailed or glamorous. As I stated earlier, I did most all of the OG12 questions, except reading comprehension. I never touch reading comprehension because I feel that a thorough preparation of analytical reasoning is a better use of time than actually doing the RC sections. I ...

Beat the GMAT 1st Try! [740:::49Q 42V]

Long-time lurker / small time contributor of the forum. I'd like to thank all those that posted questions / responses. Without yall, I would have never gotten this score. Preparation: Did all the problems in OG12 / browsed and somewhat contributed to the forum. Worked on sections of data sufficiency...

I understand that to refer to a singular, you can't use 'those'... but my question here is why is vocal tract singular in the first place? Why is it not plural as follows: Neanderthals had vocal tracts.... by having plural 'vocal tracts', we are decribing the inherent nature of the vocal tracts (of...

As far as I know, there's no other way around it other than being familiar with property of numbers. The building blocks of division don't get much more basic than this, unfortunately.

Wow.. blast from the past! As I said a year and a half ago, before I scored 99th percentile on the gmat, the answer is unambiguously D. In case the old posts are enough of an explanation here it goes again: The set is going to be infinitely long and will continue increasing positively. Any number t...

I understand everything else but I can't seem to figure out where the "1" in "(1+1/5)" comes from. Can someone explain? Let's say A is the height at the end of year 6, and B is the height at the end of year 4 If A is 1/5 taller than B, that means it's as tall as B (which is 5/5)...

Hi. I couldn't really understand what you meant by question 2) and 3)... it seems like you left out information in the question. I think I can help with Question 1 though. This is a basic combinations problem that involves figuring out how many combinations you can make of each different gear type, ...

Do I get credit for having them reversed? Lol.

Hmm... I guess you can still apply some of that logic from my post above to get to the answer D. I guess I made too many inferences for my answer choices! Someone else care to explain in a better way?

Hmmm this is a tough one, but IMO, E for the first part and D for the second part. I was going between A and E for the first part, but for some reason A just doesn't settle well with me. R tells S that because of his old age alone, he is not equipped to deal with the problems that face this country....

I arrive at D after using POE. Its possible that the only remaining buildings from pre-1930s are the buildings that were continued to be used and not demolished. In other words, there could have been many more other buildings, built before 1930s, that had shoddy carpentry work and were hence demoli...

By process of elimination, I pick B. A - This doesn't weaken the question. There is no need for a comparison to other structures because the stimulus only makes a claim about carpentry in hotels, and not carpentry overall. C - This actually strengthens the argument instead of weakening it. When work...

A is the answer, agreed. Stimulus Premise1: "Even when students are given equal educational treatment, students perform differently." Stimulus Premise 2: "Based on the premise that students perform differently with equal educational treatment, (and you have to take this as a given and...

I dont know...I am not entirely convinced...what does big boats have to do with protecting manatees? The answer choice seems to assume that "fragile habitats" means they wouldn't be able to survive. It could also assume that the hunters could carefully maneuver through these fragile habit...

IMHO - E The choice is between A and E .. But A says that "tourists are uninterested in seeing Mantees" whereas the main statement says that "The interest is high".. Hence I eliminated A and chose E. E provides a reason for the hunters not accepting this proposal. OA pls ^^ That...

I need more clear explanation for this one.... I chose B..and i dnt know why the answer is D There are a few reasons why B isn't the answer. First, the fact that large containers are just as easy to recycle does not necessarily address all ecological effects that consumers might be worried about. I...
