I would also recommend (as have others) the PowerScore Critical Reasoning Bible, which many have found very helpful for deconstructing the sometimes seemingly subjective CR questions.

However, if you read some really heavy stuff, and you know that you do not understand a thing, it's better to move on, as the probabilty that you will hit the wrong answer is quite high. that's my opinion. And of course - study SCs, the ones that are prett...

I would say make sure you know your fundamental content...in the OG there is a math review section and I would suggest making sure you know that material cold. Beyond that, I would say practice with Official Guide questions as much as possible as these are probably the most accurate.

You should also get the Verbal Official Guide

My experience in preparing for verbal has been the more official questions you get, the better. It is SO hard (IMHO) to find good quality verbal questions written by secondary sources.

I have the CR book (the older edition, when it was the same book for CR and RC). I thought it was ok, not as good as the SC, which was excellent.

Re: Powerscore CR bible?

Hi there, I heard that Powerscore's CR bible is like the best CR book out there. Is it true? I'm in the process of searching for a good book in CR. Thanks I have heard great things about it too. I think it is quite similar to the LSAT Logical Reasoning Bible, which came first and was a huge hit. Si...

What about adopting a strategy that says you will guess on 2 RC questions that ask about a detail back in the passage where you have no clue as to its location?? In this way, you save time for questions you can answer later. Just a thought...

Re: Help With DS

The issue is that even in OG the hard bin problems are only the last 30. the explainations aren't great either. If I may kindly ask, what is the evidence that GMAT is divided up into "hard" and other "bins" and that only the last 30 problems are in this bin? (I am not doubting p...

I wanted to point out that there are plenty of people who get higher scores on a diagnostic exam than on later tests. This is often the result of feeling calm and confident starting out, and not knowing 'what they don't know' until they start a class, study program, etc., Then, an anxiety creeps in...

Re: Have 7 weeks to get a good score

I will be applying to a Masters program that accepts GMAT/GRE/SAT scores, and the deadline for scholarship money is June 15th. I figure if I want everything in on time (still cutting it close  ) I will have 7 weeks to study. What is my best strategy? I have class all day today, but will be t...
