the problem is that there are many other points that will also work, besides the center of the circle. to get to these points, you'll have to move point O in a basically sideways direction. (in that picture, you would move point O up-and-left, or down-and-right.) if, along with the 60 degree angle,...

IMO A If you negate the option A i.e. Not being able to take college-level courses while in prison is "likely" to deter anyone from a crime that he or she might otherwise have committed. The author's argument falls apart because then Governor's plan will help in reducing crime rate. You w...

i will say, though, that there are 2 incorrect cards in the geometry section. * page 70, card 22, is insufficient because O does not have to be the center of the circle. Hi Ron, Can you please tell why this is insufficient ? I guess there is only one angle that is possible to be 60 degrees.....when...

scooby - thumbs up. i have noticed, though, that this flash card contains an error in the use of "due to". note that "due to" is equivalent to "caused by". since you can't use "caused by" in this context, you can't use "due to" either. i'll sumbit t...

Mean of two sets

Hi All,

When two sets A and B are combined, then mean of set C lies between mean of set A and B.

E.g. if mean of set A = 2
if mean of set B = 5
then 2 <= mean of C <= 5.

Can someone please tell why ? Why mean lies between these two figures ?

Thanks
Mohit

I received a PM asking me to respond. Yes, we often use "since" and "because" almost interchangeably nowadays. And, yes, this is wrong on the GMAT. As you noted, "since" is specifically used as an indication of time. "Since 1996, the Internet has grown from X user...

Re: Hair-growth drug

in MOST cases of these kinds of constructions, in which "what" is a relative pronoun, you can replace it with "the NOUN that..." so, for instance, in this construction ("what the drug's maker charges"), you can replace "what" with "the price that..."...

Does while by itself does not mean "although", "whereas" ? it does, yes. however, for "while" to have this meaning, it must subordinate an entire CLAUSE (i.e., it can't just be VERBing while VERBing). for instance: while most of jim's friends studied for four to six ho...
