We are required to find the radius of each semicircle. Observing the figure, we know that if we know the measurement of the side of the square, we can find the radius of semicircles. i.e. If the side of the square is 'a', the radius of the semi-circle is \(\frac{a}{2}\) 1. We have the diagonal of th...

We need to find how many times the team scored 2 s 1. We know that the team scored 7 points three times. But no information about the number of times they scored 2 points, nor can we find the same from the available information. 2. If we find prime factors of 6860 we get: 2 x 2 x 5 x 7 x 7 x 7 From ...

Re: he is paid $2.00 per unit for the first 40
Greg assembled at least 30 units on each of two days. So, consider on Day 1 he assembled 30 units. So money made = 30 * 2 = $60 Now Day 2 if he assembles 40 units, money he makes is 40 * 2 = $80 Now he obviously made more than that to receive $180. $60 + $80 = $140 i.e he made $40 more in Day 2 Numb...

17: Prime factor of 595
35: 5 * 7
85: 5 * 17
119: 7*17
45: Cannot be formed by the prime factors of 595.

Re: Divisibility
Let's consider 1000000
We can find out that 1000000 = 43 * 23255 + 35
43 * 23255 = 999965
999965 + 43 = 1000008
Thus, B

Re: Percentage
The mileage of a motorist dropped from 20 to 16 after filling up his tank which was almost empty. From this, we know that milage with only petrol = 20 And milage with petrol + kerosene = 16 But, given that kerosene contributes only 20% to mileage. Hence, milage with Petrol = 20 and milage with keros...

This question is just asking us how many ways can the three candidates be 'Arranged' from the 7 initial.
We can ignore the initial 5 selection completely. The arrangement is important here,
Choosing 3 out of 7 = 7C3
Arranging the three = 3! ways
Thus, (7! / 3! 4!) * 3 ! = 210

Re: A certain airline's fleet consisted of 60 type A planes
Airline's fleet consisted of 60 type A planes at the beginning of 1980. Pre 1980, A = 60 and B = 0 Starting with 1980, the airline retired 3 of the TYPE A planes and acquired 4 new type B plans. 1980, A = 57 and B = 4 If we look carefully then the total number of planes will be increasing by 1 every...

Re: Quant- Numbers Problem
4m+n=20; and |n|≤20
When,
m = 0, n = 20
m = 1, n = 16
m = 2, n = 12
m = 3, n= 8
m= 4, n =4
m=5, n = 0
But, n can also take negative values upto -20
So there will be
m= 6, n = -4
m=7, n = -8
m= 8, n=-12
m=9, n =-16
m=10, n =-20
Thus, there are 11 ordered pairs.

Re: If x is an integer greater than 2, the function f(x)
Given,
x > 2
f(x) represents the product of all even integers between 2 and x, inclusive.
f(51) = 2 * 4 * 6 * 8 *.............................*48 * 50
f(50) = 2 * 4 * 6 * 8 *.............................*48 * 50
So, f(51) - f(50) = 0

Re: Each member of a pack of 55 wolves has either brown or blue
We can make a table like the one in the attached figure to help solve this problem. -----------Brown---Blue White------A--------B Grey--------C------- D Total--------X--------Y------55 Referring to the table. We are given that B > 3 and X + Y = 55 Is Y > X ? 1. D:B = 4:3 Or, for a constant 'P, the v...

Re: percent
The stereo was marked down by 30%.
Let its original price be X.
So, 100% = X
If it's down by 30% then 70% of it is remaining.
So 70% of X is the price it got sold for.
Thus, 0.7X = 84
Or, X = 120
