Anyone taken the TOEFL?

Has anyone taken the TOEFL? A friend told me that after the GMAT, the TOEFL is very easy. If I consistently got 86-96% in the Verbal section of the GMAT tests, would I still have to do much studying for the TOEFL? Can it be done with a minimal amount of review (ie. one night review session)?

Hello snowmpimpa, I had a very similar experience to yours. I studied very very hard for a month, and was getting scores of 690, 730, 700, 730 and so on in my GMATPrep and Manhattan GMAT practice tests. I was very surprised to see that my grade in the actual test was 650, and my quant was at 55%. I ...

Actually, I'm referring to schools that take the highest Verbal and highest Quant score from multiple exams, where the Quant and Verbal don't necessarily belong to the same exam. So for example Exam 1: Q: 45 V: 32 Exam 2: Q: 41 V: 39 The school would then get the highest Q and V scores, so it would ...

Schools that take the highest Quant and Verbal Scores

Hello Stacy,

I have heard that both Dartmouth and Yale get the highest Quantitative and Verbal scores if the applicant has taken the GMAT more than once. Do you know what other schools evaluate GMAT scores this way? Are there any others in the Top 30 that do so?

I had the same experience except it was in Quant! I felt very confident about my quant, and actually had a harder time with Verbal, so imagine my shock when I saw my grade. I was consistently getting practice test grades of 690-730 with no quant grade lower than 41. This was my third try so I'm not ...

Hello, Attaching the problem and explanation... This is the part of the explanation I can't understand. Taking this equation and subtracting the 4th equation (Total students) yields the following: a + e + f + 2b + 2c +2d + 9 = 84 –[a + e + f + b + c + d + 3 = 68] b + c + d = 10 I believe in this par...

MGMAT - Venn Diagram

Source: MGMAT In a group of 68 students, each student is registered for at least one of three classes – History, Math and English. Twenty-five students are registered for History, twenty-five students are registered for Math, and thirty-four students are registered for English. If only three student...

I've tried Kaplan, Manhattan, and Princeton. I voted Manhattan GMAT because it provides high quality questions that are challenging and its logic best approximates the logic of actual GMAT questions. However I personally think that the MGMAT CAT is much, much harder than the actual GMAT. It's also e...

PS: Hotel rooms

From GMAT Paper Test 37, A certain hotel has 1,400 single and 420 double rooms. Each room is cleaned by one person. If one person can clean a single room every 15 minutes and a double room every 20 minutes, how many cleaning persons are needed to clean all of the rooms if each person works for exact...

Hello, got this from an old GMAT Paper Test (Disclosed Ed, Code 25). I'm a little unsure as to how I should model the solution to the problem. I think it's an RTD problem. I tried to make an RTD chart, but I got a bit lost, especially since the rates are expressed in terms of room/time. Any equation...
