Stacy, I just wanted to give you an update on my situation since you were an intregal part in my decision to apply for Fall 2007. I took my GMAT early March 2007, and applied just before the March 31, 2007 deadline. UT McCombs MBA is on a rolling admission and I was just notified today that I was ac...

Ok to apply this late in the game?

Hi Stacey, I'd like some advice before I start something I may regret. I took the GMAT yesterday and scored a 650 (not sure on writing, but I feel I did well, atleast above a 4). I planned on enrolling for B-school in Fall 2008. I originally wanted to go top 10, and I know my GMAT is a bit low. I wa...

Alright, just got back from my GMAT. Scored a 660 ... shy of my 700+ score. isisalaska, how are you going about finding a private tutor? I live in Austin, TX and may try hunting one down myself. I feel like I can tighten myself on Math and tweak my verbal a bit. I know 700 is in my grasp, but I may ...

Re: MGMAT Tests?

I might have to agree with kevch25. I scored 740 and 700 Manhattan GMAT tests two weeks before my exam. The 700 seemed right, but not the 740 (maybe luck?) I wound up socring a 650 on the actual exam (680 and 710 on the GMATPrep exams.) I guess MGMAT would be an "ok" predictor, but i don'...

Re: Prep coruses versus Tutor

I am following Eric's advice to share this question with the forum. I am thinking on either taking a course (Kaplan/Princeton Review) or hire a private tutor. I need help in the quantitative section, I took the test in Feb. and I did fine in the verbal area. Any thoughts of what will be more effect...

I really appreciate the quick reply ... didn't think anyone would be on this late at night :) My plans for my last two days are to take one more online Manhattan GMAT exam, and to go through it (usually takes me about one day to take the exam and review it) and then concentrate on the OG11 DS sectio...

Hi Stacey, I have a little more to add on to isisalaska's post. I've been going through my own self study for about 2 1/2 months now (seems like so much longer). I've taken over 15 practice exams thus far, and the Manhattan Online CAT exams (purchased the SC book, and utilized the student center for...

My scores on the Manhattan GMAT have been higher than normal. I've scored between 690 - 750 after taking 5 of the onlint practice CAT tests. I score on my GMATPrep between 610-640, so I'm not sure how much stock to put into the Manhattan score. I agree with other posters in regards to the insightful...

How do you think the Manhattan GMAT CAT test compared to the real thing? I found Manhattan's test helpful since their explanations are really good, but wanted to see how those scores correlate to the actual GMAT.

Thanks for shedding some light on this.

kevch25, you have most of it correct except for the angle. Length of arc ABC is 240 degrees not 120 degrees. Arc AB is 120 deg and Arc BC is 120 deg. ABC hence is 240 deg. The rest follows as per your logic i.e. 240 / 360 * x = 24 x = 36 So, D = 36 / pi = 11 oh man, thank you for catching that. I w...

PS: Equilateral Triangle inscribed in circle

An equilateral triangle ABC is inscribed in a circle. If the length of arc ABC is 24, what is the approximate diameter of the circle? A) 5 B) 8 C) 11 D) 15 E) 19 I thought I had this question easily figured out, but it's not any of the answer choices, so I'm pretty certain I'm doing something wrong ...
