You should try to understand the underlying concepts at play with these questions, people.

It would interesting, however, to know if there was to immediately ballpark the correct answer in questions such as this.

People, do not fall in the trap of forcing variables into formulas. It's annoying, I know, but understand the concept at play. This is not a difficult question in my view, but one could make it terribly difficult for no reason.

I don't know if there is a single WAY to solve questions such as this. You have to find a method that works for you AND IN less than 2 minutes. Some people may hate working with all the decimals and multiply everything by 100. Some may love working with small values and keeps things anchored nearer ...

An apple can be compared with an orange, but not with a car. A car can be compared with a truck, but not with a tornado. (All things being equal that is!)...

The best way to solve this problem is to pick a set of variables that meet the conditions of R and S and play around with them. The question asks what MUST be less than 1. Use that statement as your anchor. Ask yourself if, with the variables you have chosen, if it is even possible to make an answer...
