Re: Is w + h^4 positive?
since h^4 will always be positive, we only need to determine the sign of w.jjjinapinch wrote: ↑Thu Jul 27, 2017 12:12 pmIs w + h^4 positive?
(1) h is positive
(2) w is positive
Official Guide question

Re: What is the value of t?
1) s+t = 6+s
t=6.
statement 1) alone is sufficient.
2) t^3 = 216
t=6 (since exponent is odd so only one value will satisfy it)
statement 2) alone is also sufficient.
Option D is correct.

Re: What the value of w^-2?
w^-2 = ?
1) w^-1 =1/2
1/w = 1/2 => w=2.
w^-2 = 1/4.
statement 1) alone is sufficient.
2) w^3 = 8
w=2
w^-2 = 1/4.
statement 2) alone is also sufficient.
Both statements independently are suffcient.
Hence option D is correct.

Re: Is x = 1/y?
Is x = 1/y ?
1) xy=1
x=1/y
statement 1) alone is sufficient.
2) 1/xy = 1
shifting x to right side we get 1/y=x.
statement 2) alone is sufficient.
Both statements independently are sufficient to determine whether x=1/y
Hence option D is correct.
