let the degrees be 2x, 3x and 4x.
Sum of degrees = 9x
9x = 180 degrees, solving for x, x= 20 degrees
Thus, the smallest angle = 2x = 2x20= 40 degrees
The largest angle = 4x = 4x20 = 80 degrees
Sum of smallest and largest angles = 40+80 = 120 degrees

Let x miles be the distance between A & B.
Time taken in reaching from A to B = Dist/speed = x/4
Time taken in reaching from B to A = Dist/speed = x/8
Total distance = x+x=2x
Total time = x/4+x/8 = 3x/8
Avg speed = total dist/total time = 2x/3x/8 = 16/3 miles/hr
Thus ans is C.

The question is of an arithmetic progression. The series goes like this ....x+2x+3x+4x+.....x.x Taking x common, we get, x(1+2+3+4+...x) The sum of arithmetic series = no. of terms .(first term+last term)/2 No. of terms is x. Thus, Sum = x ( x.(1+x)/2), which simplifies to x2(1+x)/2 Thus, B is the a...

The answer should be E. Let us assume that the amount invested in the fund be x. 40% of that amount is in stocks. Thus, 0.4x is in the form of stocks. of that, 20% is in preferred stocks, thus 0.4x*.02=0.08x is in preferred stocks. This amount is equal to $576. Solving for X, we get X= $7200 which i...
