Hi and thanks for your post. It sounds like you have a very strong background and, if you can get your GMAT to come in at or over 700, you should be a competitive applicant (recall that there are not guarantees when applying to programs at the very highest level). If your goal is to get into social ...

I concur with the other poster that your response was rather rude (I took a break from posting after my second child was born) but I'll try to answer your questions. did not get any necessary information from ur post. I asked u weather my gmat score would be sufficient? Your GMAT score is mediocre a...

BU's empahsis on experiential learning will get you out into the business community. That way, you'll get to meet with and interact with more US business people than you would be able to do otherwise. For an international student, getting real-world experience with US companies would be far more val...

Well...the thing is that, even with a great explanation (like the one that you have), you still have an open and nagging concern about whether you can hack the advanced high-level courswork of a major MBA program. So...I think I would take a three-pronged approach: - Apply to very good but not top-t...

Hi and thanks for your post. As it happens, one of my clients just got into Rotman (his first choice) so --at the risk of sounding cavalier-- people do get in!! On the other hand, let me tell you about another client that I consider a rock start. He just got waitlisted at HBS and Wharton so who know...

Hi and thanks for your post. There are lots of opportunities in the health care field though I'm not really in a position to say which one I would recommend that you pursue. I will say this, though: if you are serious about making health care your long-term path, it may make more sense to get a degr...

I think your GMAT score is a great improvement! Congratulations!

Hi and thanks for your note. Right now, there are two things that you need to be focused on: - Getting great work experience of any kind; - Figuring out what you enjoy. Choosing a gig based on which position will best position you get into business school is not, in my opinion, a very good idea. Fur...

Hi and thanks for your note. Yes, that is a bit of a vexing situation --it sounds like you have very very strong work experience as well as a very solid GMAT. The GPA...well...I don't know what to say. Was the illness something that lasted long-term? Was it something that was ultimately cured? I mea...

Hard to say without more information (like, for instance, your GMAT!). But...some very good but not top-tier schools in those states include: - University of Southern California - Babson - University of Boston (very practical skills oriented) Of those three, for an international student, I think the...

With a 590...probably those that are ranked 20-40; but, more generally, you could probably shoot for a school w/ an average GMAT of about 650, though I would not focus exclusively on those schools, of course.

You mights start with: The Economist The Wall Street Journal The New Yorker National Review (an opinion magazine but very well written and edited). There are some classic grammar texts but I don't think that they would be as useful to you as just focusing on the grammar elements that are on the GMAT...

Hi and thanks for your note. All of those sound like possibilities. There are a number of very fine business schools in the NE so I would focus on finding another two or three to apply to. Unfortunately, as I have noted elsewhere on this site, I don't really recommend schools. There are just too man...

Hi and thanks for your note. You have a lot of questions so let me take them one by one: I am confused about whether or not I need management experience before I apply for an MBA. Generally, with very few exceptions, you do need management experience. Not necessarily "management" in the se...

Hi and thanks for your question. It is a very good one and you are right to be thinking about yield on your time and investment. As it happens, HBS has the pick of the litter, so to speak, when it comes to applicants: they could probably fill two or three classes with people with killer credentials ...
