#### m, n and 2/m+3/n are positive integers. What is the value of

##### RE: m, n and 2/m+3/n are positive integers. What is the valu

Statement 1: Option 1 - M =2, N = 3 - 2/M + 3/N = 1 + 1 = 2 - MN = 2 * 3 = 6 Option 2 - M = 5, N = 5 - 2/M + 3/N = .4 + .6 = 1 - MN = 5 * 5 = 25 Since we can get two values for MN that satisfy the statement it's INSUFFICIENT Statement 2: - Possible values for M ====> 1 & 2 - possible values for N ==...

#### The length of arc AXB is twice the length of arc BZC, and

##### The length of arc AXB is twice the length of arc BZC, and

The key to finding arc length is to find the value of the CENTRAL angle. That is because the arc length will always be proportional to the central angle. If you can find the value of an inscribed angle you can always find the value of the central angle and vice versa. Central angle = 2 * inscribed a...

#### If y is 4 greater than one-fourth of x, and

###### Problem Solving

y = .25x + 4

Therefore y/x = (.25x+4)/x

To get rid of the decimal I will multiply entire thing by 4/4 ------> y/x = (x+16)/4x

#### Permutations/Combinations

###### Data Sufficiency

1) The only combinations of positive prime numbers that add to 12 are 7 & 5. This gives us two scenarios Scenario 1: - x = 7 people - y = 5 chairs Total combos = 7 * 6 * 5 * 4 * 3 = 2520 Scenario 2: - x = 5 people - y = 7 chairs Even though there are only 5 people there are actually 7 options for wh...

#### What is the area of the circular region with center O?

##### Edit

Since area = pi * r^2 we can rephrase this question as: What is the radius OM = OR = OS = ON? 1) MN is perpendicular to RS. - This tells us MOT is a right triangle but without more info isn't going to help us find the radius -----> INSUFFICIENT 2) The area of triangular region OMT is 4. - Doesn't he...

#### What is the sum of the remainders when the first 30 positive

###### Problem Solving

Remainder problems often have a pattern to them. Name of the game is then find the pattern.

1/5 = 0R1
2/5 = 0R2
3/5 = 0R3
4/5 = 0R4
5/5 = 1R0
6/5 = 1R1
7/5 = 1R2
Etc.....................

Each cycle has a sum of 0+1+2+3+4 = 10. We have 6 cycles ---------> 10 * 6 = 60

#### n is an integer strictly between 10 and 20. What is the valu

###### Data Sufficiency

n is an integer strictly between 10 and 20. What is the value of n? 1) The tens digit of n^2 is 2. 2) The hundreds digit of n^2 is 3. statement 1) The range of values for $$n^2$$ based on the given info is 100 < n $$n^2$$ < 400. So $$n^2$$ can be any perfect square between 100 & 400 Let's start find...

#### Between 1980 and 1985, Pierre’s investment portfolio

##### Question

I would say choose smart numbers. The key is having a strategy for the numbers you choose. You should be actively be trying to prove INSUFFICIENCY when you're testing numbers because then you only need two examples to answer the question - one "yes" scenario and one "no" scenario. Only if you can't ...

###### Data Sufficiency

Let's say the digits are represented as "a" and "b" N = ab M = ba Algebraically this translates to: N = 10a + b M = 10b + a Statement 1) I just did this by testing numbers Possible combos are: N = 87, M = 78 ---> N - M = 0 ----> WORKS N = 78, M = 87 ----> N - M = -9 ---> DOESN'T WORK N = 96, M = 69 ...
