Best practice exams

After taking the GMAT, I thought I'd post my opinion on the practice exams that I took. GMATprep is obviously the most accurate and effective indicator of how well you will do. I would SAVE these 2 tests until the last week before your exam. Not only does the exam look identical to the GMATprep soft...

710 after 2.5 months

I just wanted to thank the creators/moderators of this forum. I took the GMAT on March 16th and got an unofficial score of 710 (49 Quant, 36 Verbal). I achieved my goal of breaking 700, but was a little dissapointed because some practice tests had inflated my expectation. On the MGMAT practice exams...

Kaplan 800 question Practice set 6, question #13

Can someone help me figure out where I'm going wrong here: For all nonzero integers n, n*=(n+2)/n . What is the value of x? (1) x* = x (2) x* = -2-x I know its not (1), but I think it could be (2) because x* = (x+2)/x = -2-x = -1 (2+x) if you cancel (x+2) from both sides 1/x = -1 --> x = -1. But if ...

PowerPrep Problem

Hi, can someone help me with this problem- it seems simple, but I must be mistaken in my logic. Its from the Powerprep software Exam 2. A certain basket contains 10 apples, 7 of which are red and 3 of which are green. If 3 different apples are to be selected at random from the basketbal, what is the...

I think that the answer would be 10, (D). Machine A will generate 50 * $10 = $500/day Machine B will generate 40* $10 = $400/day So every day that they both run, machine A makes $100 more revenue. The difference in maintenance cost is $950, so in order to justify using Machine A, it will have to run...

Hi all,

I was wondering if there are any special tricks or formulas involving problems with prime numbers and/or if a number is/should be divisible by a prime. (ex: when they have some HUGE number and you have to see if its divisible by a prime or if they want the largest prime factor.)

thanks

Hotel Rooms

I think the answer would be 70 (B). Think of this as 2 seprate actions: cleaning the single rooms and cleaning the double rooms. 420 double rooms * (1hr/3rooms) = 140 hours of work 1400 single rooms * (1hr/4rooms) = 350 hours of work Total hours = 490 hours of work 490 hours * (1person/7hours) = 70 ...
