x1 = 3 x2 = 2(3) - 1 = 5 x3 = 2(5) - 1 = 9 x4 = 2(9) - 1 = 17 x5 = 2(17) - 1 = 33 Now we can write the sequence as x1 = 2^1 + 1 x2 = 2^2 + 1 x3 = 2^3 + 1 x4 = 2^4 + 1 x5 = 2^5 + 1 . . . . x19 = 2^19 + 1 x20 = 2^20 + 1 x20 - x19 = 2^20 + 1 - (2^19 + 1) = 2^20 + 1 - 2^19 - 1 = 2^20 - 2^19 = 2^19 (2 - ...

My solution: y takes 2t days to complete 2w of work x takes 2(t+2) days to complete 2w.. x+y takes 24/5 days to complete 2w work. and while i created the equation i assumed 2w as 1 unit. so equation will be: 1/2t + 1/(2(t+2)) = 5/24 by solving this i get t = 4, so it takes 6 days for x to produce 2...

I am getting 12 days. did you calculate it for W products of 2W?
y = rate of work for Y and x = rate of work for X
y = W/t
x = W/t+2
x+y = 5W/12
5W/12 = W/t + W/t+2
5/12 = 1/t + 1/t+2
t = 4
y = W/4
x = W/6
Now to produce 2W products, x = 2W/(W/6) = 12 days

Let number of already existing houses = 100
New established = 300
60% of already existing houses = 60
76% of new established houses = 76*3 = 228
total house sold = 228+60 = 288
Percentage = (288/400 ) * 100 = 72%

let y be the total number of students accepted
80% of y = x
y = x *100/80
y = 1.25 x
so college need to accept 1.25 times the number of seats available.

When you need to convert Km/hr into m/s multiply it by 5/18
eg: 36 km/hr = 36 *5/18 = 10 mps
When you need to convert m/s to km/hr multiply it by 18/5
eg: 20 m/s = 20 * 18/5 = 72 km/hr
