My undergrad institution is a small liberal arts college that has a pretty good reputation -- ranked in the 40th to 50th range by US News -- but I fear that most of the other applicants to these MBA programs...

East Coast job prospects for Haas Grads?

I am planning to apply to b-schools in the fall, and trying to narrow down the list of schools. Stanford and Haas are both programs that really appeal to me. However, the one thing that has given me pause about applying to those schools is that I am pretty sure I'll want to be in NYC after graduatio...

750 (98%) -- Q49 (89%) V42 (95%)

I rocked the GMAT! This forum was incredibly helpful to me, so in an effort to "give back," I am posting my story below ... OVERVIEW I took the GMAT yesterday after just under three months of studying -- nine weeks enrolled in an in-person MGMAT class and two weeks of post-class prep on my...

Difficult/Medium Bin in OG11?

I've seen references on this site to the "difficult/medium bin" of quant questions in OG10. Is there an equivalent to that in OG11? Or are you supposed to assume that the last 100 or so questions in each practice section are the most difficult?

Shortcut for long multiplication problem?

I came across this question on a GMATPrep practice exam. Does anyone know of a shortcut beyond actually multiplying it out?

(1001^2 - 999^2)/(101^2 - 99^2) = ?

[^2 = squared and the answer is 10]

Hard/Medium Bin

You mention the "hard/medium" bin of questions in OG 10. I didn't notice anything like this in OG 11 -- is there an equivalent? Or is it safe to assume that the last 100 questions in each section are the most difficult?

Nonprofit Work Experience

Hi, Stacy. I am currently preparing to take the GMAT, but am already starting to think about which schools I would like to apply to -- shooting for about four or five. My academic record in college was very strong, and assuming I do well enough on the GMATs, I would like to ultimately end up at a to...
