I would have to see the context but I think you could use the two together in the same sentence, especially if the still is there to emphasize that even despite x, he/she still did something...

I am afraid that RIch is right - your goals are a little unrealistic given your starting point and you are going to need a lot more work than reading newspapers. But to answer your question, I think reading opinion pieces in various newspapers is best, especially for Reading Comp since it gets you u...

45Q is already pretty high and it gets increasingly difficult to capture those last few points. 50Q is very, very difficult to achieve so I think you were probably expecting too much to think that your score would jump to that on the next test. 47-49Q would be more reasonable (there just happens to ...

A couple of suggestions... One, try to be logical while you do your Math. Have an expectation about roughly what the result will be when you are doing a calculation so that you will be more likely to spot an error when you make it (because the mistaken result will not make any sense). You also just ...

If you are afraid of losing the questions that you have already seen you could always screenshot the questions from the test after you are finished and save them for later review. This is actually what I do with the people I tutor online so that I can see all of the questions when I am tutoring them...

I could probably write a book on proper time management and guessing strategies for the GMAT. Guessing is an essential part of taking the GMAT and doing it well is definitely a big factor in increasing your score. Again it would probably take too long to cover all of the nuances of how to do it, but...

One more resource that you could use is the GMAT Paper tests available on mba.com. I would use the Question Pack first since those questions are more recent than the ones on the Paper tests, but the Paper tests are not a bad additional source of official GMAT questions. The questions are a little ea...

If there is anyone else out there who has compiled an index for the new OG's that would be super helpful. Ceilidh, MGMAT used to have a free version for the older OG's on the MGMAT website (maybe in a blog post or something). I understand the reasoning behind wanting to entice people to pay for the ...

I would agree with that completely. First of all the test is much more about understanding the concepts and applying them in strategic and creative ways than it is about just memorizing facts and formulas. And I would also agree that logically understanding things is the key to remembering them. A g...

I like to have my students create a binder so that there is some logic to how things connect (rather than flashcards, which tend to end up as a huge pile without much organization). You can create a Math section and a Verbal section and then for the Math section even divide it up into general strate...

Yeah, I must confess that I have been waiting to transition my students to the OG 2016 books in part because I don't have an index of the questions of the type that skgmat is talking about (and have been hoping that I don't need to construct one manually from my previous versions). It is indeed help...

I would also add that in addition to using the MGMAT books (or any study guide) you should supplement that with OG questions or official questions from some other source. So when you go through a SC chapter in the MGMAT book you should then turn to some real SC questions to make sure that you can ap...

As far as 3rd party tests go I like the Kaplan tests, but they are still not official tests. And if you took their course then you were probably relying largely on their materials. Again I generally like Kaplan but it may be that you were relying too heavily on unofficial questions and unofficial te...

I would agree about not repeating tests on the current version of the software, but the older version of the GMATPrep software (not to be confused with the powerprep software) is a different story. I don't know exactly what happened when they went from the old version (which was only PC compatible) ...

This is huge! the 31 day wait was very annoying for test takers who had prepared adequately, were genuinely ready, but just had a bad game day performance. Allowing people to take the test 16 days later is really a huge benefit so that people in the situation just described can jump right back on th...
