GMAT - From 500 to 680 (46Q 38V) - 6.0 AWA
Hey All, First off, I'd like to say that the GMAT is not impossible, but it can be very taxing. Also, I waited a while to write this because I'm less than a month away from attending grad school at a top 20 university (with a 2/3 scholarship). This has been a dream come true, and I'm very happy that...

The Official Guide for GMAT Quantitative Review, 2nd Edition
Hey All, I noticed that the new guides have some pretty good questions. Do these repeat in the Gmat Prep exams from GMAC? I've taken the Gmat prep exams in the past, and also recently took a new one about a week ago. I didn't get one repeat in the Verbal section. I did receive a few repeats in the Q...

Difficulty of Test Prep Vs. Real GMAT
This is just my opinion, but I feel that the real GMAT throws questions that can be harder for a few reasons: 1) Most likely the test-taker has never seen the question 2) Test Prep companies cannot mimic the algo perfectly 3) Test Prep companies create a study plan to ensure that you know how to sol...

Hmm
The passages themselves are adaptive but questions are not. Questions will remain same irrespective of whether you are doing all of them wrong or all of them right. The reason is that GMAT test creators found it too difficult to create so many different questions based on their pool for each RC pas...

Gmat Prep Software
Does anyone know whether GMAC plans to unveil new tests or new GMAT Prep Software? I took both tests, but I plan to re-take the Gmat. The prep software was not indicative of my score. Scored way below my Gmat Prep test scores. Anyone heard any news? I know that they've released the new 12th edition ...

Hey Mike,
I met yesterday with a tutor from Manhattan Gmat. I have to say that even though it was only 2 hours, I thought it was very informative. I think I'm going to stick with the test date. I think my true ability is right where I want to be for now. Thanks for the advice.

Hey Mike, I haven't gone for private tutoring yet, but I wanted to take a practice MGMAT exam before meeting with my tutor. I scored a 650 (44Q 35V) on Cat 4 (I took the first 3 exams over a year and a half ago). I really thought that the questions were pretty representative of the real GMAT. With t...

Hey Raj,
How did you do on GMAT on December 20th? Did you find a strong correlation between the MGMAT exams and the real Gmat? Just curious because I find the real verbal to be quite tough.

Hey Mike, Thanks for your input. Yeah, I've been trying to work under intense time constraints. I've been doing some math just to ensure that I don't get rusty, but I really feel that I can do well on the verbal part. I plan to meet with a MGMAT tutor very soon. I'm just waiting on the tutor to get ...

Hey Mike, Thanks for getting back to me so soon. I'm not sure how to pinpoint the exact issue. On the gmat prep exams, I've done really well on the RC and CR, but didn't do so well on the SC questions (though I think I am still good at SC questions). During the actual exam, I think I froze up around...

Of all the people who have taken the official test, which CAT is most representative. I've taken Kaplan and Gmat Prep. I scored really well on both, but only a 600 on the real thing. Are the Manhattan Gmat tests worth taking? I took a few about a year and a half ago, but they contained a lot of erro...

Looking for a Verbal Tutor
Hey All, I'm very frustrated with verbal. I've done very well on my practice exams. Have taken two Gmat Preps and scored 42V and 39V on Test I and Test II, respectively. I've also taken 6 or so Kaplan exams, and have gotten 99%ile on 3 of them, and haven't gotten below 90%ile on the other 3. I've ta...

Verbal is tough
Yes, of course some people are going to think that the actual exam is easier, but I'd have to say that the real exam is way harder (in my opinion of course). Firstly, I'd say that the math practice questions are very close to what you'll see on the actual test. The Verbal is another story. A lot of ...
