5 consecutive no. will be
s,s+1,s+2,s+3,s+4
adding 5 nos and dividin by 5
(5s+10)/5 = a
s = a-2 .........eq(1)

now, s+2...9 consective integers
adding all 9 will give : 9s+54
AM = (9s+54)/9
AM = s+6
put s = a-2 from eq (1)

AM = a-2+6
AM = a+4
Hence E.

Thanks Stuart for such a great help. but some ques are still there in my mind. Why we have to subtract the overlapping only once as it is appearing twice in venn's diagram and similarly why we have to subtract twice instead of thrice in overlapping of 3 sets.Logic behind it. However, I just realized...

let total x no. of pages
in 1 hr they will type
4x+3x+2x = 72 pages
x = 8
1st type = 4*8 = 32 pages/hr
2nd type = 24 pages/hr
3rd type = 2*8 = 16 pages/hr
So, for typing 52 pages
3 will take
3hr = 48 pages
and for 4 pages = 1/4hr = 15min
hence 3 hrs 15 min
Ans is D/
