There's no simple yes or no answer, but a number of factors that come into play. In your specific case, the 700 isn't so much a problem, but you did very well in verbal and only a little better than average in quant. If your undergraduate gpa isn't stellar, or if you have bad grades in math classes ...

I just beat the GMAT(48Q 80%, 41V 92%, 720 94%, 6.0 AWA 91%)
Well I just got my AWA scores and was happy to get a perfect 6. I primarily just used the OG and the Manhattan sentence correction guide as I thought this was my biggest area of improvement as I started my studies 3 months ago. I had studied for a few months back in 2008 but got sidetracked for a lo...

Hi Gandalof, I am not an expert but from whatever I have read, seen in interviews of people who got accepted at Stanford like schools, most of them have Manhattan Guides in their repertoire. I am also using Manhattan Quant guides. If you have inclination towards advance math, then these guides will...

Best Study Guides and test prep for those desiring 720+ ?
As the title states, I am hoping for a high score and want to make sure my study material reflects this. I know I have seen some reviews here that some of the books are only geared towards average test takers and won't have the difficulty needed for a really high score. I have a high aptitute for th...

I think you could benefit from a retake. The 700 score itself isn't a problem at all. It's is well within the range of scores at the best business schools. However, the quant score is mediocre at best and it could cast some serious doubt on your ability by these schools. Luckily, it won't be hard at...

Range of Scores in each section
Hi, I am new to GMAT prep and I see people posting their Q and V scores, for example 50Q/44V. I am curious, what is the range for each of these sections. What combination of Q/V would be required for an 800? Also, are they each equally weighted into your final score on the GMAT CAT section?

Admissions question
When applying to a school, does the region where you live have any relevance in the decision making process? For example, I live in Maryland and one of my top choices for B-School is Minnesota. I checked their profile and only 1% of their students are from the Mid-Atlantic region. I would think this...

Work Experience
I wanted to get an opinion about my work experience. Firstly, I was slated to finish college in the Spring of 2006 but I had a severe medical catastrophe in the fall and had to withdraw from my fall 2005 classes. I wasn't able physically, mentally, or financially to go back for awhile so I ended up ...

You are on the right track Gandolf :) Welcome to the forums. Some additional classes may help but dont forget GMAT part it's vital. Thanks. Yeah, the GMAT is the least of my worries as I've always done a stellar job on standardized tests. I just let myself get too lazy in college and accept B's whe...

Extra Curricular
I am 24 years old, working full time, and spending the next 2-3 years building my career, studying for the GMAT, and taking classes to improve upon my academic record (GPA is 3.3 and I want to get all A's in these classes) before applying to business school. Aside from the obvious stuff I mentioned ...

I'm new to this. What is the best way to get started?
I have recently decided to prepare myself for MBA admissions. I completed a B.S. in Finance with a 3.33 GPA. I know it's not too shabby, but I do feel like I let myself down with the GPA as I slacked off quite a bit and could have done better. Luckily, standardized tests are where I've always excell...
