I don't think it's so bad, but you might want to leave your mom out of any interactions with adcom members. Other than that you can walk with her around campus, no shame in that...

Hi,
You can search for GPA in Wikipedia in order to find out how to convert, but keep in mind that some b-schools don't ask you to convert but to mention your GPA in the original scale, and explain the scale.

After considering several consultants, I decided to go with Aringo . The admission process for top MBA program is not like anything I knew before. Not only it is prolonged and exhausting, it's simply conducted in a different language. I wasn't used to presenting and marketing myself, and in this gam...

This is not a good scenario. You're going to apply in Round Three to some of the top schools (make sure they have one), and then, if you're lucky enough to get accepted in this most risky of all Rounds, you may want to request a deferral? Sounds pretty desperate and not a good move if you are seriou...

I took the GMAT twice. Oddly enough scored well on the verbal the first time and poorly on the quant. The seconds time, the sections were reversed. Scoring well on the quant and poorly on the verbal. Not sure if it was clearly answered earlier, curious if programs (in general) will take the best of...

A high GMAT is always greatly to your credit and if you were a statistics major the Quant section shouldn't be a problem. Let's say that a high GMAT score is the best beginning but it really is just that. You need a good, well-rounded application in order to succeed. Think recommendations.

You're stats are good enough that I would say you should try for Round 3 at the schools of your choice, and certainly if the rest of your application is also up to par ( you should get an outside opinion about this). Round 3 is harder than the first two Rounds for obvious reasons but it's there for ...

Admissionado is right about providing concrete support about your undergrad school. If it is famous, as you say, what is it famous for? If their standards are high, you don't need to be concerned. And since you mention Wharton, Booth and Fuqua, do you otherwise have the requisite conditions for appl...

This sounds like a move within the same company. Would you consider it a promotion? If so, why were you chosen for this opportunity? If the move will not affect what you've accomplished in your current position (which you want to have in your application)and if you are not leaving unfinished work be...

How can you get a recommendation letter from your previous boss on stationery where he is no longer working? Don't even think about lying on your application. And what's wrong with getting him to write you a letter of recommendation from his current company? You should have a recommendation from you...

The admissions committees are aware that their applicants may have lapsed in to questionable behavior sometime in their past. It's a fair question and you are given the chance to explain the incident. Since this happened in your freshman year, it is well behind you. I would be brief but honest about...

I used a consulting firm (one of the above mentioned) on the basis of what people I knew said about it. I looked around for contact with people who had a recent MBA from a good school and asked them about their experience. Most of them had used consulting services. I chose on the basis of how much t...

You seem to be a very busy person (I don't know if you're male or female) who is thinking way in to the future. This is good. I wouldn't worry about your work experience and your volunteer activities are always important, volunteer being the key word. This comment may not be as encouraging or specif...
