IMO D. I choose D because it is parallel. (C) Submarine exploration reveals that the support of diverse life forms at great depths where hot water vents through the sea floor in the complete absence of light. To me, It does not look like a complete sentence and the meaning is greatly distorted.

A) Insufficient. The LCD of x/y and 1/3 is 6.
Here, y can be either 2 or 6. (Or it can be even 12, when x is 2)

B) Insufficient.
x is 1, Again y can be either 2 or 6.

(A) and (B) together are not even sufficient. (Y can have two values. 2 or 6)

Hence E.

I eliminated A, because i did not like "as a result of" phrase here. "Because" is a perfect word that specifies why the project must be abandoned. Also E is more precise than A.

I think you almost got it .. This is my approach: ------------------------ Juan takes 11 seconds to run y yards . He would take 11/y seconds to run 1 yard. So for x yards, he would take x(11/y). In your approach: --------------------- D = RT y = (R) 11 R = y/11 For x yards: x = (R) t t = x/R = 11x/y.

OA is B.

I am not convinced with this answer.

B would have been my choice if it had also addressed the impacts of the government action(opposed by the oil companies) on company's profits.

Please comment on this ..

(2^x-1) * (3^y-2)

=> (2^x/2) * (3^y/9)

=> (2^x)(3^y)/18

=> 288/18

=> 16

Hence A.
