I have been caught off-guard completely; I pretty confidently chose E over A; not able to quiet clearly understand the explanation..I am unable to decipher the error, in fact quiet clearly i see subject verb disagreement in A.

I agree with the explanation the choice is between A and D. The rest obviously can be eliminated due to the introduced pronoun error. The parallelism is maintained in both A & D. I would go with A as D makes an incorrect comparison between sport utility vehicles and minivans that carry passengers

Thanks Stuart, your explanation lead me to revisit my pattern{(0,7),(1,6),(2,5),(3,4),(4,3),...} and was realized my silly mistake. yes A is sufficient as unit value for each pattern is 7..
