There IS a sort of grey area with GMAT scores. But as we know, this is not a science. A great score is always advantageous but the adcoms do not stop looking when they see a below average score. They do always go over the whole application.

Please. There is enough information about application requirements and school standards to fill an encyclopedia. I'm not saying that acceptance at a top school or even a good school is a scientific procedure, far from it, but there is a base line of necessary conditions and any applicant should feel...

English is not my mother-tongue and I could not have done the essays without their help. It's hard to understand just how instrumental they can b...

So unless you accomplished something truly remarkable (Rhodes scholar, saved a village, escaped a war torn country, NFL player, founded a startup worth $10 mill...

Vincent's advice is good and useful. Have you considered trying to apply with the GRE instead of the GMAT? You would still have to prepare and you should investigate whether this is a valid alternative at your choice schools, but the GRE could be a good option for you.

Although an acceptance with a GMAT below 600 or 620 is a rare occurrence at all the top schools nevertheless it does happen regularly. There will always be a small number of applicants, usually from outside the USA, who have extraordinary life stories that show intelligence and tenacity but who have...

I'm not sure which methodology is being referred to here. Duke (Fuqua) and UCLA (Haas) are ranked very close to each other on the main financial publications' yearly rankings, and have been for a years. There are differences in their programs, the east-coast/west coast factor is big and affects grad...

I'd say send in your scores immediately - it won't hurt you. Generally speaking, it's not easy to predict a GMAT score and most of us are somewhat surprised for the better or worse. Sometimes you just know you did a lousy job of it but the schools will have access to all your records, as you know. A...
