You don't have to WAIT until then to submit your app; they just won't consider it until then. So submit it well ahead of time, along with your unofficial GMAT score. Don't add to any potential delays by waiting until you think they'll get your score to apply. What was your first AWA score? Are your ...

You can submit your app anytime up until the deadline, but they won't consider it until it's complete. Since you have an official GMAT score, they will consider your current score unless you tell them another one's on the way.

Have you already retaken the GMAT? When are your apps due?

Ha, I totally didn't see that I wrote retake, not take. I shouldn't surf the forums when I am surfing tv channels too! LOL.

I would wait to retake. Give yourself more time to study and get closer to your target score. Your application will be stronger if you can score higher with more prep, so your chances will be better if you wait.

Thanks for the link to that thread. It was very useful. Although I didn't see an answer from Kevin to your question on the 30/37 issue if those questions were missed at the beginning or end of the test. I have always heard those first questions were weighted more heavily.

I never thought it was just the first five. I'd always heard it was more like the first 10 that were more heavily weighted.

I would agree that OG is the best for practice, and that PR and GMATPrep have the best practice tests. I am not a fan of Kaplan's tests either. PR was much closer to the real thing for me.

Just do a lot of practice for it. Get a good overall review guide for the GMAT itself (I used Princeton Review, Cracking the GMAT, and would definitely recommend it), and be absolutely sure you use the Official Guide as well. It has a lot of practice questions. There's a separate official math workb...

In my experience the PR tests are very close to the real thing.

Kaplan is good for practice for tough questions, but PLEASE ignore the scores. They'll freak you out.

I would recommend the PR tests. The Kaplan tests can be good for practice but do not use them to predict your score.

Excellent post. I have not tried the tutoring myself (other than music lessons, too!!! And that made a huge difference), but your points are very valid.
