Thank you both supershick and codesnooker. I still am not very clear. Assumption that ===> "number of particle accelerators decreased and still the wait-time decreased" can be inferred as ==> "the number of researchers on the topic decreased over the year " Therefore B looks good...

Surface area of the box = 2 * (l*b + b*h + l*h)
= 2 * ( 8*20 + 20*2 + 2*8 )
= 432

Therefore any option which is greater than 432 square units in area.
which is => (B) 21 in by 24 in

Ans should be B

Now as per the question:
98 = m + 3s
58 = m - 2s

Solving the above equations for m gives m = 74.

Therefore 74.

I can see 90 but Im not sure how you conclude 30-60 for other 2.
