Can you guys give me a rough evaluation of my profile? Graduated 2007 from UCI with BSEE. GPA 3.2 GMAT 740 Work exp. 2 years doing Application Engineer/IT stuff. Would I fit into top 15 programs? What should i ask my recommenders to write in the LoR?

My boss isn't used to doing LoR for grad, so what should I have him write to help me the most?

Finally beat the GMAT. Round 3. 740. i win!

First test, July 08. Got 610
Second test, Oct 08, Got 700.
Today, Dec 6th 08, Got 740!!!

Finally no more of this cursed test!!!!! My half year study finally paid off!!

John, can you elaborate more on the "built in" traps? How did u go about analyzing the wrong answers? Would you say that analyzing wrong answers is as hard as finding the right answer?

CR stragies: jogging down diagrams?

In the Manhattan prep book, it suggests that we make diagrams, or paraphrases, of the CR passage.

My question is, for those who do well on CR passages do you guys do anything similar to this or not at all? If so, what are some ways to shorten the time of writing and to make concise paraphrases?

McGraw Hill sucks. Don't use it. I just took the test today and scored 610. On the practice tests i get around 680-720. I think i really choked big time. So in an ineq. question, we cannot do something like:

x-y / x+y > 1

to

x-y > x+y?

what is the rule for something like this? Do we treat it kind of like absolute values?
