Re: High CAT, low AWA

Hi, I received a 760 (Q49 V44) on the CAT section, but got a 4.5 on the AWA. I am thinking of having the AWA re-evaluated. Do you think I should have it re-evaluated or consider re-writing the GMAT because of this? I am considering applying to top US schools. Thank you for the help. Regards, Mike I...

Re: I agree with every poster above

The scoring of verbal now, is different from what it was two months ago. Does anyone know of any channel to communicate with GMAC and ask them to investigate. Something is definitely fishy here, and we should get our hands on it, and put the matter to rest. Alright, I called the GMAT Customer Servi...

I read a lot on different posts that Verbal is the score which varies the most - between that and quant. I have a theory... Could it be that you, and I included, are over-thinking the problems when it comes to the real test? Personally, I find myself double guessing and then trying to figure out if...

Re: Here it is

So I took the exam today for the 3rd time and I have a couple of questions: (1) Is it possible to ask for a remark? Especially for the verbal because I can swear that was my best verbal performance only to come out with a 36, unbelievable. I have been averaging around 42 in all different tests, and...

Well I'm going to retake the exam @ the end of August (three weeks left). I started studying again. Ordered CR Bible from powerscore and this will be the only addition to my "book collection" for this upcoming test. 1) I will focus more energy on the Verbal part. Already covered the MGMAT ...

i feel your pain, i just went from a 40 in verbal to a 34 this past Tuesday. Of cours,e I improved my math, but then dippped my verbal for a grand total of +10 points. Did the scoretop thing make verbal harder or something? what's the deal! Who knows, but that's how I felt when I took the test. The...

Same thing happened to me, I dont even know where to find resource material to help with the verbal since I finished all of the OG stuff and the Verbal on the test was like nothing I had seen before! insanely difficult. Glad i'm not the only one. I know man, I have no clue what to say. I exhausted ...

czechchamp I can understand the frustration you must be going through. Dont take it personally, it is not going to help you much. Talking about your GMAT prep scores, I have seen experts stating in this forum that GMAT prep has a score variance of 50 points. Your first two test scores fall within t...

I just BOMBED The GMAT!

I took the GMAT yesterday morning and managed incredible 600  (Q42, V31 with AWA: 4) Background: I studied for approximately 4 months and took MGMAT online course (good experience). My GMATPrep CAT's in the last week were as follows: GMAT Prep 1 > 640 (Q43, V35) GMAT Prep 2 > 640 (Q42, V38) - ...

For top 10 school 610 won't cut it, unfortunately. If you're serious about top 10 program, then you ought to retake it. FWIW, McCombs (Top 20) GMAT's 80% range is 630 - 710. Timing is very important, make sure that you are watching the clock throughout the whole exam. Also, allow yourself a few gues...

Number Properties Q

I have exactly one week left before my GMAT. Took three GMATPrep exams and scored 640 (Q43, V35) - 640(Q42, V38) and 710(Q44, V42). In math, my biggest weakness are number properties questions. Can someone please help me out with these two problems: ------------------- PS: If Y and N are positive in...
