i don't understand how our quant can be so low yet our overall be (in your case especially) so high :? 44 and 45 are still halfway decent scores for quant. You have to realize that alot of people taking this test have serious quant skill, but may be lacking on the verbal side. Thus, many of them wi...

I had a similar question about my quant performance today. I scored 740: 44Q (72 percentile) and 47V (99 percentile). I'm a bit concerned about my quant score being too low for some programs. I do have somewhat of a quantitative background (Finance undergrad, CFA L1, structured finance job), so I'm ...

Congratulations! I'm hoping to find similar information, as my GMAT score today was nearly identical: Q44 - 72 percentile V47 - 99 percentile 740 - 97 percentile Like you, I was scoring between 48-49 on my recent quant tests. My verbal scores were ranging between 46-50 the last few weeks. My quant p...

The careless mistakes are killing me. I took the second GMATPrep test to see where I am, and found that 67% of my quant misses were due to careless errors. Verbal misses were about the same, if not higher. I still scored a 690, but given my goal, I need to stop making careless errors.

How much did you improve your last 3 weeks of prep?

I am at the three week mark. On Saturday, I took the GMATPrep 2, and only scored 690 (46Q, 38V), which was substantially lower than my goal. However, I did seem to make some careless errors early on in each section, which no doubt greatly lowered my score. I feel I can certainly improve on my Verbal...

Are these problems representative of the highest difficulty of quant we are likely to see on the actual GMAT?

I'm not quite as quick to answer the questions as you seem to be (usually around 1 minute per question), but I could definitely take a bit more time to think about my response. On my first GMATPrep CAT, I completed the verbal section with 10 minutes to spare. But, I missed 8 questions due to careles...

My first practice test score was 620 (36Q, 40V). I'm wondering how important it is to have a strict study schedule and stick to it. For instance, is it important that I'm mapping out which sections and type of studying/prep I'm doing for weeks in advance, or is it sufficient to simply stick to the T...

Performing poorly in Quant

I've been having some difficulties scoring well in my Quant practice problem sets. My hit % is between 60-80% on both PS and DS, with over 50% of my misses due to careless errors. I'm hoping that with 7 weeks of training ahead of me, I can get this section shored up. But, does anybody have any quick...
