Its not D because:
x, y, z can be 1, 3, 5 or 3, 7, 11 for y = (x+z)/2
First case they are consecutive odd integers while in the second case they are not.

IMO B. Keep drawing socks while trying to avoid picking a pair in each draw. At some point you will have to pick a sock that completes a pair. Continue till you have 4 pairs. All possible sets of odd numbers with range of 4:
x is odd:
1) x, x, x+2, x+4
2) x, x+2, x+2, x+4
3) x, x+2, x+4, x+4
4) x, x, x, x+4

Aaah.. now I get it.. if x is positive, then the RHS might be -ve or +ve, LHS is always +ve...hence we need to know if x is -ve to be able to determine if a stmt is sufficient.. Thanks mate!
