Hi Ron, I solved it this way:- Lets say there are x number of 7's and y number of 77's so 7x+77y=750 i.e. x+11y=50 Normally I take the highest and lowest values when substituting values. In this case, x will be 39 and y is 1. x+y is n which will be 40. Let me know if this is correct. Hi sunny, where...

I can further simplify Ian's argument as: given n is from1 through 5. assume the following table: If a member finishes 1st,2nd,3rd... he scores 6-1=5 points 6-2=4 6-3=3 6-4=2 6-5=1 Also, there is no tie and no two players score same. assigning maximum 6 points to two teams i.e. (5+1) and (4+2) only ...

sorry typo......... ithink it is c.let me know if i am right Statemet 1. AD=6 angle ADB=180-2x So, angleB=x which means triangle ADB is an isosceles. also, from this AD=BD. After knowing the length of BD, BC is known as the triangle BDC is also an isosceles. Hence 1 is sufficient. stmt2. merely kno...

here the answer is A.

given the length of one side it can be deduced through the isosceles triangle, the length of required side.

hence A

when a triangle is inscribed in a cirle with diameter of the circle as one of the sides of the triangle, it will be a right angled triangle.

given that radius=1. so, diameter=2
one side=1

so by pythagorous, height of the triangle=sqrt3

and hence, area=sqrt3/2 which is B.

I agree with codesnooker. pronoun 'they' has correctly been used and it refers to antecedent "Muslims". C is the best choice.

Re: Salary :D

Is the answer "C"? I would solve it in this way. Lets label 'K'- Karen's salary in '95 and 'J' - Jason's salary in '95. In 1995, the difference between Karen's salary and Jason's salary was 2,000 (K-J=2,000). In 1998, the gap between their salaries increased by 400, which represents "...

I dare to say that the answer is C. Below is my solution. Rewrite the equation in form of quadratic y=x^2+(a+b)x+ab 0=x^2+(a+b)x+ab - real solutions of this equation are x-coordinates of points where the graph intersects the x-axis. (1) a+b=-1 => x^2-x+ab=0 a+b=-1 - does not give enough data to be ...

This is bit tricky question

ques is x-y>10 , is (x-y)>(x+y)

stem1. x=8 so, 8-y>10 or y<2> 8-3--- true so, sufficient

Stem2. y=-20 so, x>-10
plug the value by taking x=-9
-9+20>-9-20--- true sufficient

Hence D
