I would honestly say that for verbal, it's a matter of practice on your weak areas. Ron says it best; there are no learning techniques for CR. When I was somewhat passive about the GMAT, I would look for short-cuts as to how to tackle CR but I realized that sufficient knowledge on how to break the p...

Your verbal score is really good. You need to work on the Quant side of your studies. At one point, my quant was about the same as yours. I dedicated some time to quant using the Manhattan GMAT Quant guides and my score shot up to the mid 40's in a matter of a few weeks.

All the best!

Hey, I have also been a dedicated member of this forum for about a year or so. Took me a while but I hit my goal of a 650 a couple of days ago. So in my opinion, a 700+ is quite a stretch but can be done. 470-->590.. Very good start. This means you have a majority of the fundamentals down. If your l...

Thank you everyone. I did think from time to time when I was actually going to get the score I desired. It was a grueling experience but I did not want a test to kill my dreams. Honestly, if you try hard enough and dedicate yourself to the cause, anything is possible. It was truly painful coming hom...

8 attempts later and I finally hit my target score.

Hello everyone, I just wanted to share my experience with my fellow GMAT writers. I know its not a 700+ story but my 650 will suffice for my needs. My only recommendation to all those test takers not hitting their goals at the moment is, DO NOT GIVE UP! I went 8 rounds with this beast of a test and ...

GmatPrep is the most precise tool you can use to determine your testing abilities. Trust me, do not do what I did. I thought I was a going to get lucky when I had a lower score than I wanted on the GMATPrep software. I took the official test anyways only to hit the SAME EXACT SCORE *sigh*.... Brent'...

Hey, I was in a similar situation you are in a couple of weeks ago. I was consistently scoring 39-42 on my quant with MGMAT and scored a Q45 with the free knewton test. A week before my exam, I had saved a GMAT PREP exam and to my surprise, I hit a Q47. Then 2 days before my GMAT exam, I took a MGMA...

Not a problem. I think with this information, you will be fine. I've posted with utter distress on this blog in the past because my GMAT experiences were horrible and I found information from other users and the experts very helpful. Just trying to give back to the community at this point! Let us al...

Okay so you need a plan and you need to retake the GMAT in 2-3 weeks and improve by 60-70 points. Well first of all, I believe you can do it but you have to say goodbye to your social life for the next 2-3 weeks. Next, you need a good game plan to get you close to or over a 450. I seen this really g...

I found that in my verbal, RC was the key factor really bringing me down so I could not get to my 600+ level. I started working religiously on the verbal part of my prep and to my surprise I scored a 610. Not where I want to be but its improvement from the 530 I scored months before. Maybe you want ...

Sorry, I was looking at two SC questions simultaneously. Not S-V-A but the "it" is properly referring to the computer company. What I usually do is replace the pronoun with the object to see if it makes sense. If you do this, the sentence becomes more clearer and you can see what the autho...

When I read this sentence, both "it"'s refer back to the computer company. "The computer company has announced a plan blah blah blah that will make it (the computer company) the largest manufacturer in the office color printing market" It can not refer back to the rival company b...

Hey, A lot of people go through your state when doing a practice exam for the very fist time. Take for example myself. When I did my very first exam, I scored a 460. I was very devastated with the results but it made me want to get my dream score more. Look at the sections that really brought you do...

I would recommend MGMAT Verbal books if your not very clear as to what is exactly tested in the Verbal section. The OG guides are amazing for questions but you need to know what is being tested in SC, CR and RC( eg. Parallelism, Comparisons etc.) If English is not your first language, then E-GMAT wo...
