And do you think that going for SC Grail would help. I used Manhatten and Aristotle. I liked Aristotle better a...

Are the practice tests from the official TOEFL guide rated?

Hey there, I just took the GMAT (Q50, V44, 760 overall, 5.5 AWA - will provide a debrief some time soon) and now need to take the TOEFL before I can finalize the B-school applications. I wonder how much I really need to prepare after my GMAT journey. Therefore I'd like to take a rated practice exam ...

I disagree with that reasoning as a line y = 0 doesn't have a real x-intercept. The whole x-axis is intercepted. Nothing makes point (0,0) better as a x-intercept than (5,0). As 1) clearly states that we do have a valid x-intercept, I assumed that our line must have a slope different from 0. Though...

Problem with a question from GMATPrep

In the xy-plane is the slope of line k equal to 0? 1) The x-intercept of k is 0 2) The y-intercept of k is 0. The proposed answer is E However, I assumed it should be A GMAT's reasoning regarding (1): If line k has equation y=0, then it has x-intercept equal to 0 and its slope is 0. On the other han...

Is someone able to solve this OG13 problem within 2 minutes?

This problem throws me off... The solution does not reveal a real trick on how to solve this problem fast. Would you, when you face such a problem, just guess and move on or really try to solve it? PS 218 OG13: List T consists of 30 positive decimals, none of which is an integer, and the sum of the ...

Nice approach, Mitch! To avoid confusion it should be noted: "Thus, their combined rate = d/t = 1/(4/3) = 3/4." Mitch divides 1 by (4/3) because the calculated rate shows the "number of distances" that can be traveled in a certain time, not how many miles or km. This basically tr...

Fastest way to solve this speed/time/distance problem?

A left P for Q at 10:00 A.M and at the same time B left Q for P. Both A & B took the same route. They meet at 11:20 A.M. If both of them start from P, B will reach Q 2 hours earlier than A. What is the time taken by A to reach Q?

Secondly, by mentioning that the residents of San Perdito were served best if Varro gets reelected, the argument makes the flawed assumption, that a low unemployment rate and a high population are the only factors that play a significant role in determining how well a population is doing In this ca...

Doesn't the supposedly correct answer require to much of an outside assumption? From what I've studied so far one should always try to assume at least as possible. This answer clearly requires a strong assumption, namely that multistory buildings are rather built on lands whose values are higher. It...
