Hi guys,
Does anyone know how to solve such a problem quickly?
Joanna bought only $0.15 stamps and $0.29 stamps. How many $0.15 stamps did she buy?
(1) She bought $4.40 worth of stamps.
(2) She bought an equal number of $0.15 stamps and $0.29 stamps.

Another confusing number properties question. Please help me solve this.
The numbers x and y are not integers. The value of x is closest to which integer?

Hi guys,
Is there a quick way to solve this question? The method I used involved a lot of work and time.
If x and y are positive integers such that x=8y+12, what is the greatest common divisor of x and y?
1) x=12u, where u is an integer.
2) y=12z, where z is an integer.

I did it this way: Total no. of outcomes = 1000 x 800
Favourable outcomes = 60 x 1
Probability = 60/800000 = 3/40000
Is this method correct?
