Hi,
Could someone please comment on following sentence:

A new place does not synonym loneliness or boredom, rather it provides an opportunity to interact with new people, explore new place and culture; and savor great food.

Does the usage of 'synonym' correct here?

2) Also respected should be replaced by past-perfect.

In A:
proposed a return to A, to what had been B

Although "to what" is awkward. But had been correctly refer to something in past.
