Hey guys thanks. I don't plan on retaking as I have a lot of work commitments and don't think I'll have the time to invest in retaking to improve my score. It really is a bummer but I am hoping to bank on the rest of my application. I was the valedictorian of my university out of 400 graduates (3.9 ...

Beat By The GMAT - 680 (Q48, V35)
I just took the GMAT today and scored a 680. I was doing extremely well on practice tests and consistently kept getting over 700 on all the Princeton Review tests and on the GMAT Prep tests. Unfortunately I didn't do so well on game day...the verbal especially got to me. I was aiming for a higher sc...

Milton addresses Ernesto's argument by talking about something that does not directly respond to his point. Ernesto talks about VCR sales and Milton talks about more VCR films released this year which will make people buy more VCRs. It may make people buy more tapes, but not necessarily more VCRs. I...

Pick numbers. If the diameter for circle S is 4, the side of the square is also 4. The radius is 2 and the area is πr^2 = 4π. Both sides of the square are 4 so the pythagorean theorem can be applied or as pemdas alluded to the 45, 45, 90 right triangle rule can be applied. Pythagorean theorem - 4^...

This is actually a simple problem if you pick numbers... I picked 6 (liters or ounces) as the amount of water poured into each jar. The amounts each jar contain respectively are 6/24 and 6/18, or 1/4 and 1/3 respectively. The jar with less capacity, 6/18, is poured into the jar with more capacity, 6...

Vamsi, The answer is E because the passage states that "many European countries and the United States conquered high (by these countries' standards) inflation." This implies that the inflation experienced by the US and Europe in the 80's would differ from inflation in other countries by no...

I agree with A.
Also on your next post please:
1. Underline the portion in the passage that is being tested
2. Have choice A match the passage
3. Use the spoiler for the answer choice so you hide the answer and allow people to try and attempt the question prior to knowing the answer
Thanks.

I also went with E but I don't see any reason why C can be eliminated. What are your guys' thoughts?

The answer is C. Conclusion - plastic sleds are more dangerous than wooden sleds. Premise - the number of children injured while sledding was much higher last winter than it was ten years ago. There could be many reasons why such as a huge increase in the population, thereby more people sledding and...

Absolutely it has to be C.
A - not mentioned.
B - nothing about a job description is mentioned.
D - it is not the "only" purpose.
E - nothing is mentioned about this.
C is the only one that the argument depends on and without it the argument cannot be valid.

Assumption questions are a bit tricky and as Arunangsu alluded to, it is best to use the negating test. Now to answer your question...A can be eliminated because the argument does not depend on this assumption. This may be true and is a good trap answer but the argument does not require this to be t...

This was a tough one...I got A as well but I wasn't 100% sure either.
But if you go through each answer choice every single one can be eliminated except A as Santhosh alluded to.
Good luck.

I also agree with C. The conclusion the statement makes refers to any species of monkeys. C strengthens the statement by showing that rhesus monkeys display more aggression than other monkeys making it likely that other species of monkeys will show even less agression.

Since the difference between each of the answer choice's numerators and denominators is three, you have to choose the lowest of the numbers because that will yield the greatest answer. The higher number you divide by with the same difference, 3, the lower the answer will be. All answer choices excep...

bubbliiiiii, If you look closely it says 1 two hour concert per week. This equates to two hours per week. The answer must be C.
