UCLA is a top ranked school and generally a top five part time program. You can't go wrong there because travel will not be as big of a concern. Going to Chicago will mean traveling over halfway through the country presumably every other week and it will be expensive to do such travel, so that needs...

I did not apply to GW full time, but I am accepted for the Professional Flex MBA program. Still waiting on other schools to provide final decisions.

money9111, thank you for clarifying what the Consortium was. Around Washington, the "Consortium" term is used as well, but for universities that allow its students to take classes at other institutions. It was confusing me for a bit. As for Hispanic, any race can claim that heritage if the...

Minor speeding, etc. is not going to be something you have to mention to adcom. However a DUI or perhaps reckless driving will have to be.

Thanks for this. It wasn't for you, I would have had no idea about the integrated section. Now I'm totally freaking out, as my test is scheduled for after the introduction date. UGH! Just something else I need to start studying. Thank you for the advice though. :) I wouldn't worry about IR too much...

If you're trying to get to a Top 5 US school or a school like Yale where the GMAT median is 720 or so, then you should retake. Otherwise, I think you should spend your time improving essays.

People do that all the time to every type of school out there. You have to do what's best for you. But to add some realism, if you are on the waitlist for any school, you statistically don't have much of a chance getting accepted, and that includes me, so you also want to really dig in and learn abo...

Georgetown is the #1 choice because it is the only Top 25 school in the DC area, and provides the best national brand should I move out of the DC area. The major con about the program is that it has a lockstep program to the Nth degree, which very few other part time programs do, including those ran...

I went business casual (meaning a sweater and khakis is appropriate for men and women) for my class visits. This way I didn't dress too formally because I knew that not everyone was going to class all dressed up, but I didn't want to dress too casually because again, these schools' admission reps an...

I think you have some good stories. 1. With your dad passing away and other familial issues, go ahead an put that into an optional essay, which every school offers. Don't make it a sob story however. It's best to say how you moved on from it and came out ahead. 2. You can add your experience on goin...

I am in a similar position as you, and have been successful in letting the other schools that accepted me delay my deposit deadlines. I wouldn't word it and say that you are waiting for school X explicitly, but say that you are strongly considering the schools that you got into, and that you want to...

Cool. With part time programs that have a weekend only option, I do know that many guys come from outside the local area. I'm still in my decision phase and waiting on one school for the MBA. I'm from the Washington, DC area. Got into Maryland/Smith and GW (with a scholarship) so I am really digging...

Congratulations! It's nice to have the problem that you may have on whether to pick Chicago or Kellogg. I'm assuming you live in Chicago? I find it kind of a shame that there aren't many other cities where there are multiple A-list part time MBA programs. Even in New York, there's NYU, and then ever...

1. If your GPA is below the 10th percentile, and it is for both the full time and part time programs, then your GMAT is almost certainly going to have to be above the median of 700 (full time) or 640 (part time). The 90th percentile is 740 (FT) and 700 (PT) so you are going to have to get a score cl...

The Top 20 US programs have median GMAT's at or above 690 for the full time program, so I do believe that you need to take the test again. I would focus most on the verbal as you said. Yes, IT and Indian applicants appear to be a dime a dozen overall from reading these boards, but one demographic fa...
