Hi jingsuet, In my opinion if you are not fully confident & you are performing poorly in your practice tests, then you should postpone your test date, it is very essential to score 700 + Consistently (say 8-9 times out of 10) on the practice tests if you want to score 700+ on the real GMAT. Also...

let a= avg
m= mgrs
d= directors
so a = ((a-5000)*m + (a+15000)*d)/(m+d)
or 5000m =15000d
or d/m = 1/3
d =25%

I think this question is incorrectly posted 1) x-y=z this is not possible since the figure is a rectangle & the sides are x ,y & the diagonal z so the the diagonal is the hypotenuse (pythagoras side opposite to 90 deg) hence z > x & z >y so x-y = z is not possible and ofcourse 2) z =13 i...

being should not be used generally coz it is both passive & redundant (in some cases)
however being (form of verb "to be") can be used in sentences where there is a need to emphasize on the ongoing nature of an action i.e progressive tenses.

IMO A, coz in B, the last phrase "than to any " reflects a comparision being made, In Ch B the first part will not include any comparision word, hence the sentence will not logically & structurally parallel.

Like any star of similar mass would do, once the Sun has exhausted the hydrogen in its core, it expands into a red giant, eventually ejecting its outer envelope of gases to become a white dwarf. There are some errors in the OS 1) Like is used to compare two nouns & as is used to compare two clau...

Judge Bonham denied a motion to allow members of the jury to go home at the end of each day instead of to confine them to a hotel. the highlighted phrase make the sentence awkward & breaks parallelism. (B) that would have allowed members of the jury to go home at the end of each day instead of c...

I agree with Sujay,
if C is worded as
and its cargo of 750000 gallons leaked into the ocean, polluting
the it is correct coz it maintains parallelism & avoids superficial parellelism.

Hi Sankruth, I'm a lilttle confused here, although C seems fine because polluting should make the senetence parallel, however and its cargo of its cargo of 750000 gallons leaked into the ocean, polluting its cargo of its cargo: this seems to be redundant & awkward Can you please confirm that the...

Hi Sankruth, It is E because "as many .. as" is the right construct for comparing two clauses, in general when you need to compare two clauses then one must use "as" or "as .. as" form, i.e here as many .. as this ensures both logical as well as structural parallelism. ...
