Top programs typically do not like big splits, especiially when the Q side is the lower of the two. I would definately retake. Now if the score was a 740 and the split was 99%V 78%Q I'd say you were fine but a 59% in Quant is something you can clearly improve on and is definately a red flag for admi...

Sorry, my curiosity is getting the better of me. Did you consider full-time MBA programs given that you plan to switch careers (perhaps industry too??) or only part-time programs?

Althought the grades are low, you say that they are strong in terms of class rank relative to others in your program. If your transcript does not also give a "course average" grade to compare to your actual grade I would contact the institution to see if there is any documentation you can ...

I can empathise with the "location" issue as it was something that I had to consider heavily in the application process as well albeit I dealt with my concerns early in the cycle (read: before sending in an application) because I was scared of being in a situation similar to yours. I'm not...

I wanted to comment on HMAN768's advice several posts prior. While leaving the MBA program with minimal debt (and 100K vs. 12K is a significant difference) is definately something that is important it means nothing if attending the lower ranked/desired school will not help you achieve your career go...

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about this at all should you decide not to attend the school you've recently paid a deposit for. The deposit is not at all something that can or should bind you. Its not uncommon (at least here in Canada) to have to decide whether to pay a deposit at one school before hear...

You know you can achieve a 660 score, why not write again. At this point in time its wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too late in the cycle to bother applying anyhow.
The quality of MBA program you can get into with a 660 GMAT is astronomically higher than with a 450 GMAT.

Where did you get those figures from? I'd be highly skeptical about the fact that INSEAD couldn't place half of the class on graduation. IE and Queen's are again very good schools and those numbers look dismal for those kind of schools, if at all they're true. I read the original post as meaning th...

Anyone reading these message boards, please take this opinion and all opinions with a grain of salt. I don't mean to come off rude, but a lot of what I read here I, and many people I know in the same situation as myself and this poster, disagree with. That's wonderful that some of these tidbits work...

This is like comparing apples and oranges. Schulich and MBS are both very fine programs but you'd choose based upon where you'd like to work post-MBA, not who ranks higher, whose general reputation is better etc. If you want to live and work in Canada post-MBA I'd head to Schulich, if you want to wo...

You answer your own question in this post. By saying that you want out of Colorado I'd say that basically means you'll be remaining at the job you hate while trying to raise your scores (assuming you score in the range you suspect on the actual GMAT). One thing I would ask however is, do you know wh...

MBA admission on its own can be a crapshoot for top programs (of which Haas and Anderson are included) but when you go beyond the second round it gets significantly harder to gain admission. At this point in the cycle most schools are attempting to round their classes out in a composition-style mann...

Aditya, I'm not a Michigan resident (nor an American for that matter) but if you are in the Detroit area for 7 weeks and can set aside time on the weekends to visit schools I'd suggest visiting one each weekend you are in Americaq. As you know, although these schools are all in the Mid-West they are...

The problem with top-5 MBA programs is that you really can`t afford to have any element of your application that is significantly below the 20 level of their 80/20 range. Above and beyond that, admissions at these programs are also a crapshoot meaning that many many many qualified applicants don't g...
