Scratch Paper?

by csnyder12 » Tue Jul 28, 2009 8:53 am
Hi all,

I just read on the MGMAT site that we get a 5 sheet laminated booklet and a dry erase marker as scratch paper??

What the heck is the point of that?

Thanks!

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe it's so you don't leave with any of the testing information.

The marker, even though it is like a dry-erase marker, doesn't erase. I'm sure it is so everyone's testing experience is uniform as can be to make it fair.

It's really nothing to stress about. If you are practicing with a pencil or paper, my advice is to get in the habit of not erasing.

It saves paper and money. That's pretty much the only reason.

I found that I could erase a few digits here and there with my finger, but if you want to erase more than that you are better off starting again.

There are vendors that sell replica noteboards that are essentially identical to the ones on test day. I would go as far as to say don't practise with pencil. But a few thin dry erase markers and a whiteboard or use laminated sheets of paper if you can get your hands on it. Or purchase the replicas.

Question here:

For quant for example, can you mark up the sheets before you start the exam?

Like split them into 4 boxes per side, and number them . . .
